Those exist in the US too, seen them
all my life. But for a different reason---the lenses are sometimes bluish (or very blue) to help with red-green color blindness.

Airplanes are the same---the "green" wingtip light will often have a pure deep blue lens over it.

Never seen a blue train signal though---but I've never been to Japan to look myself.  

 

Thinking about the screenshot I grabbed here, I feel the need to wish good luck to anyone trying to color match the "yellow" of the toy to fill in the shoulder pylon vents for toon accuracy. Unless they are repainting the whole figure a different yellow I guess.

 

I highly doubt that's likely. By the looks of it, I think this is the final color chosen for the figure. But I do agree with you on what you said about wishing luck to anyone trying to color match the figure. I've preordered it, so I'll take it regardless what Moon does with it..

 

I meant someone after buying the figure might try to change the whole figure's "yellow" color to be more toon accurate, not that Moon might.

 

I know. Even people in the past tried the same thing with certain figures and well, yeah, didn't turn out too well. Those who do customs, I salute you!

 

Moon/Zeta/TW redid the painting of the eyes on the first two thankfully but left the chest on Getsuei wrong. Zeta has always had their quirks going back to Constructor of wanting to do their own thing with the damn colored clear plastic. This set will be no different. I would want more things to match toon but for us that would mean the legs on Shouki look like the Takara MPG version that are fat and stupid and that Kaen wouldn't fit the current role he does for Zeta. As you mention with Seizan they could have made those dark grey squares on the chest blue and made the shoulder vents match or even be an orange or darker yellow to at least come close to matching toon. They knew that much to design the thing in the first place so they know they are making it different and just doing what they want.

 

Personally I like the shoulder vents being different to break up the color some, but I know there are people who don't agree which is what inspired my previous comment. The main body color Moon is using for Seizan is going to be very hard to match I believe.

Takara messed up their original MP-21 Bumblebee and their MP-39 Sunstreaker with too much orange bullshit.

Ditto both Zeta and FT with their Silverbolts/Superions (Zeta did correct this in latter versions).

Zeta screwed up their Swindle in this regard as well. And Cang Toys with their Rampage.

No other color gives TF makers this much trouble, although I suppose the non-stop proliferation of off-white figures as opposed to pure white counts.

The only other annoying one I can think of is FT screwing up Blurr.

 

I like the color breakup as well. I just think they could have easily done that and matched as much as possible the toon on all of these. I just know that long history of Zeta taking liberties and giving us the double edged sword.

 

People are buying the figures regardless. So what if Seizan's colors are different. That's not gonna stop people from buying the figures. In most cases, people focus more on how well it functions or whatever else the expectation is on their list. If a company gave into EVERY demand by customers, then that would defeat the the entire purpose of why the figures were created to begin with. I personally like how these figures are turning out (both Cang and Moon) and I still plan on completing both sets as planned regardless of what happens. If what we saw with Cool Peak is final, then that's fine with me. I'm still curious to see Green Zone and his turn out..

 

I remember in one of the HasLab Unicron updates they said that yellow is one if not the hardest colour to match, but they didn't say why.

 

I don't see how. Yellow is well, yellow. Unless you mean the different shades of yellow, then yes it is..

 

That did seem to be what they meant, and I buy it given how most Bumblebees end up looking.

 

So basically, the entire issue here is with color? Well, companies have to experiment before getting things right. Some colors are just harder to pull off than others..

 

I'm not seeing the issue? He matches the real thing extremely well. Is the issue that he doesn't match compressed gifs of old scans of bad DVD transfers of the show? I'd say that's a good thing...

Japan has used that color for decades, for many trains. It's pretty much an iconic color of Japanese trains. It's like red Ferraris or green tractors. Japan has a lot of beige passenger trains.

 

I wish I knew. I came in to check on the thread earlier and walked into that. Your guess is as good as mine. He's the way he's supposed to be from what I'm seeing..

Threw together a very rough mock-up using the available images to give an idea of what the arm may look like on the full figure. Although my use of a very old version of photoshop is touchy at best, putting this together has made me even more keen   Wanted to share but happy to delete the attempt if deemed complete rubbish as this is not in any way intended to represent the final figure.

 

Impressive and that looks about right. Still missing his other arm lol. I say it's pretty weird just having the legs standing on the table with no body or arms. Sounds scary if you ask me lol..

 

Someone recently posted a pic where they had painted their Dark Night's chest white to match the toon better, and after I had grabbed a toon screen shot of Seizan I wished luck to those who want to paint him to match the toon (I'm not one of those people) since the vents next to his head will have to be matched to the rest of his body. Then at the last second I realized his color in the screenshot was more vibrant so I realized they might just paint the whole body instead of trying to match the existing color. Of course that is a lot of work, but it might be easier than matching the color he comes in.
