I don't know if it's the lighting (or my work PC being weird), but these both feel a bit overly dark and gunmetal-y. Which works well enough for Kaen given the very dark colors, but Shouki almost feels like he's from a metallic version and not the same style as the two leg-bots that we've seen. Maybe the Takara Shouki's coloring might be influencing me here.
Again, I'll hold out judgement until more pics.

That all said, I am really impressed with Kaen's transformation. The robot and torso mode are really clean (to the point that we used to debate if it was faux parts), so I'm totally okay with a little bit of kibble visible in train mode.

Don't like the colours on Shouki. If that was white this would be looking incredible. Both the toy and cartoon were white so no idea who decided silver was a good idea. Forearms need to be silver tho not blue. Bit of a head scratcher.

Typical Zeta. We'll see 64 reissues in all colours of the rainbow.

Colors on Moon Studio look like rejects from a Zack Snyder movie and everyone who bagged on HasTak for needing a chest plate now see Moon couldn't solve that problem either.

Moon is fine if you want to save money but the official looks more fun. Plus it's got a track of it's own rather than borrowing someone's LEGO set.

It's also better if you're going for a better sized and proportional combined mode, which is the main reason for people going Moon Studio over the official since it's only Combiner Wars sized combiner and proportions are off.
I think of people I've talked to about it a very small minority think Moon Studio's Shouki looks better, with most either thinking Takara's looks better or that they both suck.

Combiner looks to be at least 20" tall.

I’ve got a feeling that when all is said and done the Takara Trainbots will have the better bot modes while Moon Studio will have the better combined mode. The individual train modes are a toss up right now but I can see it going to Takara since they seemed most focused on making the trains as good as possible and these pics show how Iron Arm’s bot chest is just out in the open in train mode.

Diehard trainbot fans will probably get Moon Studio for combiner display and Takara for individual bots display.

I don't have any affinity for raiden or the trainbots but what a gloriously chunky bot that combined mode is. Definately looking better than Taraka's chug looking junk.

This really is shaping up to be their best combiner. Very impressive. Do hope they tweak the colors a bit though. They're trains! It's fine to go with white over silver and make everything a bit more saturated.

The Moon Studios Shouki looks way better than the chunky Takara one.

It's also fine if you want a better combined mode, better scale, company with a track record of stable combiners, want good QC in a masterpiece-scale figure, and don't want Takara's CHUG looking overpriced figures. :lol

It's looking more likely the upper legs are made from the sixth member and not a separate piece. I'll look forward to seeing how it performs stability and transformation wise but I'm impressed so far.
Getting 4 of these to prototype stage in a couple of months looks promising for a relatively quick release schedule
