Just to ask the Monsterbots I have found to be characters that are lesser known in the Transformers fiction and lore. Have their origins been explored in any further details or previous comics whether it be in IDW, Marvel or otherwise? If they haven't would you like IDW to expand on them further?

No, but Dreamwave's MTMTE books is the most in-depth anyone has ever been with them.

Except that it claims Doublecross is extremely weak entirely due to an editing gaffe on his Tech Spec; Grotusque and Repugnus both have quite good Strength stats (7 and 5, respectively), so it's likely that Doublecross was proobably meant to have a 10 in the Strength stat, not a 1.

And no fictional depiction of him follows the typo'd Tech Spec literally except the Dreamwave bio. So while it's decent, I'd say IDW has the more consistent origin; that they're a trio of self-proclaimed outcasts that do brutish acts for payment. Basically, a trio of Autobot bounty hunters.

    Monsterbot origins:

G1 Commercial - There was an accident, the new Autobots are Monsterbots! We are glad they are on our side.

Marvel Comics - Hi Fortress Maximus, can we come too?

G1 Takara TV series - Hi, we are the Monsterbots. We like Planet Beast.

    That's about it.

Does anyone think that they should expand on their characters in future comics?
