Introducing Monsterbot Warlock. Warlock will be the first in a series of 14 - 15 different Monsterbots customs that I'm working on. Warlock was cobbled together with junker parts from various molds. The main base is the body of ROTF Fallen, w/ the arms being from TFTM Ravage's front legs. Attached to those are wings from a KO version of a Convertors Robat. The shoulders are BW Transmetal Cybershark's helmet attached to the main body, and the dorsal fin from the same fig is on its back. (Still being all dorsally and stuff.) Surrounding the dorsal fin on the upper back are ears from both McD's Nightscream, as well as from the giant TFBM version. The antennae are a set of legs from a BW Waspinator, and the original 'face' was going to be from a McD's BM Nightscream. But it looked like crap. It's still under the TFPBH Arcee dragonface crossbow thingie that I used instead. I liked the look of that far better. The boosters on his shoulders are from a spare Generations Astrotrain, and his 'pecs' are the shoulder pads from AoE's Slash. A really great fig!(For parts, that is.) In the abdominal area , there are some BW Transmetal Tarantulas drumsticks on the outside, and ROTF Fallens head and 'feelers' running laterally. Finally, the hips and legs are from a spare BW Transmetal 2 Iguanus. As well, everything is held together with Gorilla Glue, and Citadels Green Stuff. For paint, the base coat is just Krylon Colormaster Forest Green. I painted the eyes with an undercoat of Citadel Mithril silver, and then went over the top of that with Testors red metal flake enamel. Next up was extensive drybrushing with Citadel a) Boltgun Metal, b) Chainmail, and c) Mithril silver. After that, I did spotting with various consistencies of Lich Purple to try and achieve the effect of Warlock's hands being stained with the mechfluid of his enemies. Anyways, hope you like it! EDIT:After looking at the pics that I'd posted, I felt that I could do better in regards to detailing. So I tried adding some subtle highlights and shadowing in some parts, as well as working in some further weathering/ wear 'n' tear with more prominent ''paint chipping/flaking" type of stuff. I think he looks a little bit better now than previously. Firstly, the early WIP shots...
Awesome! I've always loved the idea of bots with especially freaky or monstrous bot modes instead of just having a creepy alt mode. Loving this guy, and can't wait to see more.
Thanks! I've always liked that idea as well, and I have 1 or 2 more of these coming up that have that aesthetic... Stay tuned! Glad you like it! Check out below for a couple of new pics, including his alt mode and a quick bio... I was actually going to make this an updated version of Vamp, as it was heavily inspired by her, but then I decided that I'd make him an original character. This was quite fun to make! Side by side with Super Gobots Vamp Another front and back shot Alt mode (top view) Bio, which may have some extra abilities added at a later date
Thanks Stormvapor, I hope to have a few more coming in the next while here. Glad you're diggin' it! Initially, I was going for an updated Vamp, but then, as it progressed it just kinda morphed into it's own thing. Kinda. Sorta, lol Here are some pics with the updated paint apps. Comments and critiques are more than welcome.
