I was thinking of Shara Ishvalda again and I actually dig the whole Buddhist aesthetic he's got. From the name of his quest, to the design of the armor(the alpha set is very much designed like a depiction of Tang Sanzang), to the design of the weapons, it's just...really pretty cool. I realized how everything about the Elder speaks to that theme. Of enlightenment and transcendence. Shara looks not at the Hunter when he's knocked down...he's looking STRAIGHT AT YOU, the player. It's like he's enlightened to the state of the game. He knows the real enemy isn't the hunter...it's YOU the player. It's just...crazy and fantastic.

I really like how unique it is. It has a draconic build but twists it around in creepy ways to make something both unnerving and majestic. It's more like some ancient demon summoned from the dark depths with its extra arms and human-esque face. Even its power is unique, not directly controlling the element but simply employing another means that resembles it. It's basically the perfect foil to Xneo'jiiva; this one is earthen like roots and stone melded together while Xeno was alien in its unnatural light and crystalline form.

Shara Ishvalda is just a great monster in general and a far more engaging final boss than its predecessor. Its mere presence can shatter mountains. What a beast!

Makes it all the more shocking to find out even Shara has things to be afraid of.

Meanwhile, I am still trying to beat that PoS Lunstra or whatever it's called. That is utter BS, with the damn thing only giving you 15 minutes.

Rocksteady and Fireproof Mantles are your best friends. What platform do you play on? If PS4, I can help you out.

Yes, but it is raining here and my connection sucks when it does. I just went on, and will come back with better equipment from iceborne

It's been a while for me, but I hopped back into Gen U while traveling last week. It felt so comfy to be paralyzing and stunning Rathians with SnS again.

I'm not very far into Iceborne, just now doing the part where you return to the first game maps to hunt some new monsters, but do the new sets start getting bonuses for matching again? Most of the upgrades of existing sets no longer have a bonus for wearing multiple pieces of the same set.

Yeah, set bonuses will show up soon enough, believe it starts with the first MR apex monster you'll encounter.

How the hell do you beat the stupid bat? I don't have a problem dodging but I run out of time.

Nigthshade paolumu? It’s weak to water, poison and paralysis. Try luring it to areas with gajalaka or cactuars, soften its body parts and flinch shot often. Its wings and inflated sac are good spots to target.

Nargacuga? Weak to fire and all ailments, bring lots of shock traps and tell your cat to bring shock traps and paralysis weapon. Arms are hard to break, better to focus on the head; soften it up and flinch shot whenever you can. It does this move where it flips around and slam its tail, which gets it stuck and gives you lots of time to get to its head. Lure it into traps and mounting attacks.

Incidentally, what weapon do you use?

Cool, hammer is my main. I like to lure the fudge to the ledge, trap it and then spam the air attacks on its head. With the airborne skill and wounded parts, it wipes out hp like no hard thing :D

I might try hammer again, but join a team. Last time I had two people show up but they just sat back and let me do all the work.

Finally killed the stupid bat. I beat it to death with the lv 10 paralysis hammer.
