probably minor issue..

 

I sort of found the source of the problem with the left arm of my copy of Megatank. But the thing is that it's wedged in there super tight that I don't know how to get the broken pieces removed.

 

You know? Looking back on Megatank Megatron recently, I've realised something. In my view, this version of combines the best elements of past iterations of Megatron, at least for me of course.

•It looks and feels like G1 Megatron
•Has the realism of the live action movies
•Has the gladiatorial element of TF Prime Megatron
•The tank mode reminds me of the tank modes from Armada Megatron and the classics line Megatron from the good old days
•And last but not least, I can definitely hear Frank Welker's voice coming from Megatank.

So yeah, he's basically the best of all worlds for me and you could say that he holds a special place in my heart and therefore is quite special to me on a personal level.

 

Kinda interested in getting Megatank at some point, but I'm wondering if he's actually fun to handle? I've heard a lot of MP-scale figures are pretty much "pose and display" figures as opposed to routinely messing around with them. For the record I've never had an MP figure before but Megatank is one of the few offerings I'm interested it pretty hard because he looks gorgeous. But I ain't spending that much on a figure if I'm not gonna be able to actually handle it without severe paranoia.

 

I used to have him and let me tell you, despite the price he's worth playing around. The quality is top notch and the transformation is not a severe headache. Though from what I've heard is that the instructions booklet sucks to high heaven.

 

Depends on if you can get past some black grease/paint rubbing onto your fingers.

 

Its pretty solid.
Tight ratchet joints all around. Even the ab crunch has a ratchet joint.
Nothing feels like its going to break or you should be "careful" with it.

Idk seems a lot of people have broken those shoulder transformation joints.

 

There's a version coming without weathering.

Not sure, maybe could try and get some lubricant in there. But atm from what I can tell it’s either a they don’t break or they do situation.

 

Ah okay, so it's basically just trying to take the transformation slowly with the shoulders? Because I feel like that's the only surefire way of making sure that they don't break.

 

Because in my experience with Megatank, I've gotten so used to the transformation so much that I pretty much rushed it to the point of his left arm breaking off. So basically, you could say that it's my fault, not the shoulder quality of Megatank.

 

Well ladies and gentlemen, I've bitten the bullet and ordered a second copy of Monocrat MT-01 Megatank. Given my experience with my previous copy, it should not break if I'm careful with his shoulders joints when transforming him to tank mode and robot mode.

 

Is there a tutorial for it? Because I'm getting my second copy.

 

Well I've just ordered a second copy of Megatank and here's what I'm gonna do: While I can still pose him and play around with him, I won't apply force to the joints (like the shoulders for example) just like you said but I'll also go easy with the shoulder joints when I transform him into robot mode and tank mode.

 

Its funny, I read all these shoulder posts this morning, and I just happened to work on the shoulder in mine last night. I actually went in to loosen the outer movement ratchet. Opened it up, compressed the spring, but noticed the rotation shoulder ratchet and gear did clash a little because it was too tight. Added some mineral oil to the gear AND the outer ratchet. Buttery movement now and sounds better.
Can't wait for the next run of this guy without the battle worn sheen. I think I'll like both.
