Thanks! Mine was attached in the box, and seems to hold together as long as you don't bend or twist the waist at all.
LeSigh... Okay, good news is all the glue has not broken and everything is firmly in place. BUT you literally can't twist the waist beyond 2-3 degrees without the waist popping off from the torso. I would have a very hard time accomplishing the pose below. If I twisted mine's waist that far it would likely pop. It's like they glued or molded the waist ballpeg just a little bit too short. So IDK what to do about this. Should I complain? I didn't spend $260 for a He-Man or more specifically a Thunderpunch He-Man that can't turn his waist to simulate a damn punch. Beautiful figure overall so i'm not THAT mad but this is not good.
In my experience, most definitely contributory. We are never able to avoid it, but pretty much all production at all our factory partners end up with massive increases in QC problems from all production between the beginning of December all the way through the end of March. CYN screws up everything production wise. You have migratory/seasonal factory workers leaving before CYN and have to train new workers after CYN... and they get paid squat so there is not much motivation to do a good job... As a collector, I try to avoid buying anything made between these months, but companies always wait till this time of year for major production so it makes avoiding bad QC very difficult.
I saw a video somewhere or other in which they used a short piece of heat-shrink tubing to thicken the ball/post of the joint and make it a tighter, more secure fit. Seems like a pretty easy way to sort it out as long as you don't concentrate the heat on the peg. I think mine has finally hit the post office, so I should get a look at him this weekend. Found it! Worth a watch, at least.
Haven't tried it yet but a less permanent and no heat required option would be plumbers tape. Same premise though
The main reason people use heat shrink is the lack of adhesive which can transfer to the parts over time.
For some reason I had plumbers putty and electrical tape taking up space in my thoughts when I read that post.
Thank you @Robogeek28 for the great He-Man! I cancelled the normal version but now I kinda want two….
DO you know the address of their customer service because I'm being blind and I can't find it on the site. Should I just message them through their contact link? This waist on mine is really aggravating me and I hope they can do something about it. Edit: Okay I do have to use their "contact" link for it. Hopefully they'll help.
I’m half wondering if that March/April date given for extra replacement stock is an indication on the time for the regular release He-Man and Battlecat.
I was going to sell my He-man and She-Ra but with all the qc issues I decided to just keep them and not risk the person I sold them to having issues. I’m glad I kept He-man, and I ended up not having any issues. I also used the extra head sculpt and thunder punch armor on Mondo’s original version of He-man and it worked pretty well. Skin tone is a decent match and the head, armor and hands all fit fine. The sculpted “hair pants” under the fabric loin cloth on the original isn’t quite robust enough, but not terrible. Haven’t gotten to She-Ra yet.
