    I just got a 40gb.

I don't mind though. Vibration never mattered to me, I've also heard the Dual Shock 3 weighs A LOT. I'm fine with just upgrading my Hard Drive at some point thanks to some geek that knows how to properly do it.

I already have the 80gb which is enough for me, but I would love a dual shock controller

As long as it has PS2 compatibility, it should be a good deal. I will be buying a dual shock controller.

Hopefully if they end up replacing all of the current six-axis controllers on the shelf with the dual shock I can turn that crap off in the system options if I ever need to buy a replacement

Double ended vibrator controller? No thanks. Too bad it'll still end up making the controller heavier.

They seem to be sticking to 2 at a time. A bargain model and a loaded. As they get cheaper to make they are giving better deals. Sounds smart to me, it even got drippy considering one now.

I'm not anti-Sony or anything. I have two Playstations, a PS2 and a PSP. But I have zero interest in the games for the PS3 (and most systems these days to be honest) and I wasn't about to buy a Blu-Ray player in the middle of a format war...

So yeah, if they put out a model with a larger hard drive and maybe a free movie or two then I'm sold. :)

Sooner or later I believe they will come up with a completely software solution for PS2 emulation allowing even the 40gb unit to have BC.

I've been in the market for a PS3, didn't want to spend $500 for an 80 gig but I'd drop the monies for the new one as long as it keeps the BC. There's a single game I want (and already own) for the PS3. I really want it to play the PS2 games I've missed the past few years, the Blu Ray player, and the interaction it has with the PSP.

If it drops the BC then I'll just go ahead and get a used 60 gig from gamefunk.

I know what you mean, $500 is a lot to spend if the value isn't there for you. Sony is doing their best to make it more worth the money.

I've been hearing alot people speculating that. It would be nice.

    I don't think it has.

Though I see it's not confirmed for Europe.
Guess I'll have to stick with the 40GB when get one (as it's the only one available here)

I'll be happy with the 40GB I have right now.

All I use that space for is Rock Band songs really.

I really hope the Dualshock doesn't add too much wieght. I REALLY like how light the PS3 controller is, and when playing some Six Axis games, (Ratchet and Lair... yes lair, heheeh) I like how light it feels in your hands.

Ya know, one of my co-workers actually said one of the reasons he doesn't like the ps3 is because the controller is too lightweight. Then again, he's the village idiot here in the office.

Hmmm... might have to take a wait and see approach now, and hope they clear out the 80's at a discount.

What's wrong with liking something that has a weighty feel to it?

Because it's his only reason to dislike the console and call it a piece of crap, yet oddly enough he still shows up at my damn house(he's a friend of a roommate) to play my ps3 in the living room, go figure.

Nothing, exactly. But I can see the argument against it when dealing with SixAxis heavy control schemes. All that extra movement, coupled with the weight, puts strain on the wrists.
