I hope there isn't a thread about this yet.So,which molds do you hate? I hate the CHUG Rodimus mold since it looks pretty ugly in robot mode and the Reveal the Shield "Battle in Space" deco makes him look worse in both modes.I also hate the Universe Legends class Onslught as it's ugly in robot mode as well and I really hate the Fansproject Protector trailer for CHUG Rodimus as it's too chunky for my standards and looks stupid when combined with Rodimus (no offense to anyone who likes it)

 

War Within Optimus Prime. The result of a chimpanzee eating plastic and die-cast, pooping it out, painting it red and blue, and attempting to make it into a toy.

Yup yup. My hate may be a little exaggerated but it's still a terribad toy.

 

Cybertron Runamuck and all it's variations

 

I know some will hate on this coice and some will agree, but I really do have to say Universe Galvatron.

 

Movie Deluxe Jazz. Thank goodness for the HA version!

 

I just thought of two others...Ultimate Battle Optimus and Hybrid Style Optimus.Useless pieces of slag that I bought and regret.

 

In somewhat recent releases...

Universe Powerglide
- I love that they made him into an Ultra class, but the bot mode is just an awkward looking mess.

Universe Sideswipe
- I appreciate the clever effort of this mold and think it looks great as Sunstreaker, but Sideswipe completely underwhelms.

Universe Galvatron
- Great idea, but failed in practice. Should have been a Voyager.

Animated Jetfire & Jetstorm
- Everything about these figures sucks. The bot modes, the alt modes and both the "combined" modes - just awful from start to finish.

99% of the Movie lines
- I just hate the design style no matter how much I try to like it with the exception of BB Bumblebee, Leader Starscream & HA Jazz.

 

I actually kind of agree with this. Sunstreaker looks great but the alternate transformation used for every other character doesn't look as good. I wish the chest was edgier like the G1 version, arms weren't as lanky, and the headsculpts for Sideswipe and Red Alert didn't look ugly.

 

When I buy toys they don't look like what the seem in the show, like different body or head. But as the ears pass they improve.

EDIT: You know.... I had a list here, but I think I'm kinda tired of complaining about a hobby. So, boom, gone.

 

Cybertron Backstop. Rhino mode was fine but that bot mode.... what a fecal fest.

 

I'll have to agree with some of the OP's choices, until quite recently, I never realised how bad the Hot Rodimus classics mould was/is, this was particularly exacerbated by the release of MP-09. It's so unlike Hot Rod, the lack of the black boots looks (although present in battlespace version), the signature spoiler on Hot Rod, the white bits on his shoulders, the magneta colouring, it lacks everything that made Hot Rod..well..Hot rod, except the colour yellow! Not to mention those ridiculously long, gorilla sized, disproportionate arms of his, this mould is ugly indeed!

Also agree about FansProject Protector, it barely resembles the character it's supposed to look like, however it's the creativity and the engineering behind this figure/add on that drew me to it and still does!

 

Classics Bumblebee- a terrible alt-mode that transforms into a dumpy bot. Not in my collection!

 

universe Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak, I cannot stand this mold. and I mean that literally I could never get him or Blue to stand up unless they were leaning forward.

Classics Seeker mold. this thing is so craptacular its unreal. the head is limited as are the arms. and it just doesnt look that great either.

 

Anniv. Prime, mostly because it comes so close and yet so far, and almost all it's drawbacks are "collector" shit like the rubber tires and that Godawful diecast.

It's one thing for a toy to be terrible overall, but it's toys like that that could be excellent but a few dumb things ruin it for me.

 

How about Impossible Toys Arcee? Anyone? The figure couldn't stand even when leaning forward and she was a bit too small,affecting the arms and her weapons being tiny and nothing locks in and yet the alt. mode looks excellent.
