So Star Saber, Grimlock, and this are dead?

 

There's are a few that are considered "dead"... I don't know how far back you want us to go. I wonder with the MMC- Ocular Max- Unlimited line (Big Bot line) if a revised reformatted Dia Atlas is possible.

Planet X are apparently going to do an MTMTE/LL remold/repaint of their IDW Grimlock now. so I assume that's Trux completely deaded  .

Why did Ratchet get cancelled then?

 

That Warpath looks like Brawn/Guzzle share some design cues from it. I would imagine PX's recent announcement is the nail in the coffin for MMC Grimlock. Had no idea that there were renders for a Thunderwing at some point. Almost looks like it shares some design with the Cyclonus mold.

 

MMC never announced a Star Saber, and they've specifically said they're not doing one for Reformatted. I think RVDA mentioned he had an idea for one he might try out someday for Infinite Finity, but it'd be pretty different from IDW.

Ratchet was never officially announced. I think LazyAza kind of offhandedly they were working on Ratchet in the SuperMax thread, but later mentioned that version was cancelled internally. And I think RVDA said that it's highly likely they'll end up doing Ratchet in Reformatted eventually.

Anyway, I'm sure there's a substantial list of never-publicly-announced projects that were internally cancelled by MMC. Like, a few years back, a couple people had said they'd DM'd MMC on FB and were told OX was working on PS versions of Jazz and Sunstreaker, and obviously those never were announced or came to be. And RVDA revealed his Black Death design a few months ago that was cancelled without every being announced.

Trux was supposedly going to be cancelled without ever being announced years ago, until the design was leaked. MMC decided to go ahead with it after a redesign, but now it's cancelled again after all.

They're all really old Cassy Sark designs. There are a lot of common motifs/flourishes shared across his work, such as elongated proportions, the way double-hinged elbows work, the hips, the aggressive vent detailing, etc.

 

I liked that Thunderwing, esp. since there was buzz that it would be an Ultra Pretender. But I am sure the Garatron made it moot.

Surprised that a Black Shadow was never wrung out of the Carnifex mold. Or a Straxus out of the Tyrantron. That canceled Shockwave still looks cool.
