So when disassembling the ludicrous giant shuriken with propellers on my MMC Screecher, the top tab on the hip pieces that slides into the top of the wing above the handles snapped off. It doesn't really affect functionality, and when the hip pieces are attached it's hardly noticeable if you aren't looking for it... but I am looking for it, because I know it's there. The real problem is that every time I see this white, snapped plastic on my first and only expensive transforming third party toy, my self esteem takes a little kidney punch. I post here today to ask: 1. Anyone else have this problem? 2. Can you think of/is there a known fix? 3. Are the MMC guys bro enough to replace it? (the box has a warning that basically says not to pull this exact stunt because they won't do anything about it, you clumsy manchild) and 3a (or 4, to taste). He also has a couple stray paint marks and a very scary stress mark which were all there straight out of the box. Could I swing a replacement for these issues instead?
lol... I like your number 3... sums it up perfect. I took a razor and saw blade to this plastic and it still took work..lol But don't worry about contacting them I have a set left over from the custom Swoop I made I will send you. Pm'ing you now.
I bought an Awakening on eBay that was brand new and on y first transformation I snapped off one of the ear flaps. I was ring really careful too. So pissed. But I emailed MMC and was very nice and complimentary and said look, I love this figure and i know the instructions say to be careful with the ears, but I was as careful as can be and it still snapped, can you you please send a replacement head. I got a fairly quick response and they emailed me a brand new head no charge. Very nice people. Now, actually removing the broken head and installing the new one? That's a whole different story, lol.
On its definitely a ball joint, but its in there really snug and because of the plastic on the sides of his head and the cockpit right Behind, I can't really get my less-than-slender fingers around it enough to give it the kind of force needed and wedge it back a little. I've given it some good tugs and it won't budge. I'm afraid to pull the plate the ball joint is attached to off and/or break something else trying!
Thinking about getting that head off gives me nightmares. I do not envy you... maybe you could leverage it out with like some needlenose pliers? I almost tried myself but then thought better. You may have to damage the faulty head to get it off and just be gentle when popping on the new one.
