Yeah... I definitely want this.
THAT....is the megatron ive been waiting for. It appears to be a mould and not a retool. Either that its a heavy retool of kultur
Well this is just delightful!
Yeah, ok, I am impressed, wasn't expecting to, but this one seems like the best megatron to me, especially with the more sleek gun instead of his g1 gun which I think he comes with both.
I would totally go for this, except the one thing I never, ever liked about Megatron going all the way back to the beginning was the chest hair squiggly lines. And it's detailed into the plastic.
Almost had me.
Simply amazing! Looks great. The comic book reveal had me a little concerned that we'd get a compromised design, like their Cyclonus, but this soooo MTMTE! Beautiful figure. Can't wait!
Agree. This looks so damn awesome. I'm in IDW heaven with all the reveals.
Just when I thought I had everything I ever needed this walked into my life
This looks nearly perfect. I'll buy that as soon as I can
Only problem I'm having is that the cannon looks to be required for alt mode, and MTMTE Megs doesn't alwas have a cannon. I'd really rather the option to leave it aside for all modes. (also, I think its too big)
Peaugh on Twitter
UGH, so nearly good, but he lacks the treads sticking up, off his back. That really makes it feel like something's missing. Still, I do like this more than any official Classics style Megatron, but I don't know if it'll be worth the 3P price tag.
Edit: Also, that fusion cannon is ridiculously huge.
Missed this one. In that case, another perfect product from MMC representing IDW character.
I like how MMC do not mess with whis. They just show prototype. Wonder how long it will take to release. Jaegertron looks finished and it took year to be release.
Sigh, now I HAVE to buy this.
Oh, the MTMTE design doesn't have treads on it's back. Well then, disregard my previous complaint on the lack of them, and add in a complaint about the lack of that gun barrel...
...Wait, so the prototype does show him with a gun barrel. Well if that's still there for the final release, then my complaint on his back looking like it's missing something is gone. Also, wait, his prototype shows him turning into a jet...
...And Peaugh says he turns into a tank. So he's a triple changer. And has the ability to look like his miner self, at least in robot mode... DAMN! This toy seems to have everything.
From the third party panel:
He's a toy with two names.... Tyrantronus and Tyrantron
Showed him in both robot modes and with the cannon as a drill
I watched it on a Periscope stream, but presumably pictures will be out soon.
Yup, from Toy Dojo: Toy Dojo - Timeline | Facebook
Wow. Amazing. As long as tank mode looks good, I'll buy one.
Great job MM...
I've gone from really excited to a little disappointed.
When I first saw images I nearly dropped my phone from my excitement, but now that I'm home and on my laptop and reading through all the details I can't help but scratch my head a little and ask "Why MMC?"
This Megatron still looks fantastic but I can't help but feel like they're trying to pack too much into this figure. And I don't mean to criticize MMC because they are the best company right now providing us with incredibly accurate representations of IDW characters but I can't help but feel like this Megatron is like their Cyclonus . . . the overall accuracy is compromised by the mold.
I personally do not like their Cyclonus because I feel it is not accurate to the comic and I feel like that's only the case because MMC wanted to use that mold to make two or three other characters. And that's not a bad thing, I just feel like it makes the overall accuracy suffer.
I know this is a new mold but the fact that this Megatron has a jet mode, makes me think MMC is going to try to turn this mold into another character. Not to mention this Megatron is already two different figures essentially because he can represent MTMTE or Megatron Origins. I'm certainly no financial expert (even though I'm studying to become an accountant ) but I feel like MMC could do better by just creating two different figures: one miner Megatron and another MTMTE Megatron. I'm sure there is enough of a market for both to sell well. Maybe it is cheaper to roll the two figures into one but I feel like it compromises too much and hurts how well this figure could be.
Ultimately after this long rant, my main complains are I wish his fusion cannon was smaller and more accurate to the comic (I feel like having the vehicle mode being so dependent on the larger cannon really makes the figure suffer) and I feel like he could benefit from being just a tad taller. Based on the pictures he's ever so slightly taller than Tarn at eye level, which is fine, but I feel like he could benefit from being just a few millimeters taller. Plus it has me worried about how he'll scale with their Rodimus. Rodimus is meant to be pretty short compared to Megs and I worry that the scale will be off.
I know this is a long post and maybe I'm just being nit-picky but for the prices these figures are set at I just want to be assured that I'm getting the best figure possible. If I'm being absurd someone please tell me, I want so desperately to like this figure but right now I'm just not sure.
I think I've finally found my definitive CHUG Megatron. This looks great.
