Way too blocky to be accurate. He’s a good optimus but not a good IDW Optimus, plus from what I’ve seen most people want a Stormbringer or Shadowplay Optimus/Orion. The only one who has made that design is Iron factory, I want a small voyager of him to go next to MTMTE Megatron

I sent them these as a suggestion: I figured if they’re going to make an Op to go with their Megatron, it would have a similar feature of parts swapping to go from Orion to Stormbringer Optimus. These are the two most requested designs I’ve seen. They could nail it with a single figure.

I miss all of IDW's old artists...why the hell they dropped everyone but Livio of all people is beyond me. Also, does anyone else want a more G1/AHM/Infiltration chest, head, and cannon for Tyrantron? I'm surprised they haven't put out a Continuum add-on kit.

 

If they reissue him, I’ll buy a second one so I can have one of them in miner mode..

 

Really wish I had one of these! He looks like a great figure, but I can’t find him in stock anywhere.

 

i've actually been considering letting this guy go, not sure I need him in my collection these days. Then again, it does have some of my favorite headsculpts... hmmm

 

Think he'd look good next to Striker Manus.

 

Interesting that MMC is considering an Optimus.

If they do, I really hope it's the Stormbringer design. I think this would work wonderfully in the MMC scale and it's also a more interesting and original design than the later IDW design. Plus, the later does have competition in the old TW and cheap Zeta reissue, while the Stormbringer has no competition (the similar-ish looking WW version is only released as an MP and a Legends).

 

Any chance of a reissue of this guy? Given how he seems to be so popular, I'm surprised they haven't done so already. Any intel from any of you savvy members here?

I want this figure reissued to the point that I think starting a petition is a good idea.

The joke here is petitions do little but I’m desperate and think it’d work.

They are reissuing Overlord and they reissued Impactor. I don't think anyone did any petition. Boss Penguin loves money (like the rest of us) so a reissue has to be coming next year.

 

I'm kind of hoping they digitally superimpose in the old Sega sprite just to mess with the fans. Also, really hoping this gets reissued so I can maybe get a second to display in MTMTE mode...he's that good. Hope others get a chance to get this guy, he's probably MMC's second best (for my tastes) after Carnifex.

 

lmao that would be awesome, but i mean any of his old cartoon designs works fine, there's been like what 5 now, a part of me has always wanted this and carnifex and have never jumped on something just always says meh, i think i'm going to wind up with MT Meg as a target master for Devil Stinger on my counsel. I think i'd jump on Carnifex if MMC would give us the last of the Phase sixers Black Shadow

 

If you have the funds, I'd give a potential Tyrantron reissue a chance and I'd definitely grab a Carnifex. If you watch eBay he's been going for $150-retail price lately so it's a good time to grab him. One of those figures that has little chance of breakage or bad QC, so he's easy to flip if you don't like him.
