It's still on the list of figures MMC is planning to produce from what I understand.

I backed it during the campaign and thought it was an incredible design.

Yeah it was a “kickstarter” styled campaign that needed enough pre order backers to get funded. Didn’t hit the amount they needed sadly.

I asked @RVDA about R-50 a while back and this was his response.

 

I guess I can understand why Menmo sold poorly. They're fun figures, but they aren't must haves unless your a Lost Light or MTMTE fan.

Wasn't Fort Max supposed to be huge? Like 12 inches or something like that? Could they have gone smaller? Maybe add an expansion later on like Perfect Effect did?

If the future mmc reformatted releases for 2022 do extremely well. It will materialize. And yes there will be more releases next year (new molds/repaints/and retools). So far if your following all the mmc threads, there was confirmation that Dzef and Dzef-c are in fact finished, and are in the final stages of test coloring for the factory to start making for a may 2022 release. So thats already 1 new mold and 1 retool for next year.

 

I'm pretty convinced the FortMax campaign was very poorly marketed, I didn't even know about it after the campaign finished, and I spend an inordinate amount of time in the forums

 

Maybe but it has hit close to 100 pages of discussion but only get 60% crowdfunded, not too sure what else they can do.

Same guys posting over and over does no equate reach. They only offered preorders on PSX, and there was just a single sad post on r/transformers. From what I can gather the word didn't seem to spread much (if at all) over youtube or twitter either. Lots of TF news sites don't seem to have any posts about it. I don't know, might be wrong, but seems like they could've used better marketing.

 

This figure has so much personality, I love it. The price is unfortunate but if you need a Rung in your display just swallow that pill and get it before its gone. With IDW Transformers being done, I don't expect any other company to give us this character.
