Better for sure to my eyes. One issue with Calidus is that there is so much good sculpted detail lost in unadorned and unpainted plastic. Picking out details with panel lining highlights how good the toy looks in both modes.

Thanks. I'm moving forward with doing this to all my idw figures.

I'm holding off on doing any lining on the helmet

I love it. I panel lined my own as well but only did about half what others have done. I like it to be subtle and love the result.

Not to knock you, personal preference and all, but I'm of the opinion not every line should be black.

I haven't tackled Calidus in full yet, but used brown for the shoulder vents and small chest circles. Kinda dragging my feet with doing more until Toyhax shows a set, but I think he needs more color-breakup than panel lining alone can accomplish.

I've done much more to Turben, lining him with gray and blue. I also took a silver Sharpie to his sword to give the edge a sheen.

Personally, I'd say that black is not really the best choice for lining a brightly colored bot like Roddy; I'd go for colors that are a shade darker than the color i want to draw the lines on (eg: orange on the yellows, red on the oranges and dark red on the red), just to blend them in. But I understand that that means having to invest in a bunch of colored pens that might only get used a couple of times :p

i saw they sold the liners in a few other colors. im just not that creative to even comprehend inking in multiple colors. i was going at it more from a standpoint wanting it to make it like a heavily inked con commission or cover image

thank you for the honest feedback.

Not a bad start. It's nice seeing another person's approach to panel lining. I personally like to make sure that I cover every square inch of the entire figure from head-to-toe, so that everything is cohesive, but I know that not everyone is willing to put in the time/effort or go full OCD like me.

It's contagious, right? Once you finish one, you're almost compelled to do the rest of your collection to match.

Since this is a comic book inspired figure, it makes sense to emulate the bold outlines of the source material.

If you want to compare, here's my own panel lined Calidus that I posted back in July:

Wow you really did hit every panel. I like the way the head and a couple other places I didn't do turned out a lot. I'm going back at it tonight

Meh. I was hoping for Getaway.
And it's nice to see the teal on Thunderclash's shoulders. Also not sure if it's the angle, but I feel like the shoulder pads on Drift/DL are too big :/

Is that just a custom or is that actually being released? Because that is a BRILLIANT use of this mold.

I know WHO it is; I'm asking is this actually on MMC's release schedule or just somebody's custom job?

Yes we're making it, I was working on him some more this week, still gonna get a few tweaks color n part wise. Current version is hand painted which is why the decals are so messy.

Well don't lose your hope for that just yet. :)
