I'm only semi-joking when I say I'm surprised that FT didn't announce theirs the day after.  

 

I like that they revealed one of the animal-form S2 autobot cassettes, as we know the humanoid ones should be a fairly easy adaptation of their frumble mold. So it would be fair to assume we'll see all 3-4 of those next year. I do hope they eventually get to Ratbat and the later G1 pairs as well (dinos, ape&bird, etc).

 

isnt it kind of redundant to make a ratbat? just as it was with lazerbeak. I mean dont get me wrong their lazerbeak is still awesome but wayy too big, great as separate display piece or for OS stuff

 

Redundant to make a Ratbat? Why? Of all the Cassetticons he's the one most often portrayed as independant from Soundwave. If anything, he's the one being out of scale makes the most sense for.

 

I love the birds. They stand alone well and have nice articulation. I kind of like them in a masterpiece display even though they're a little large. It's great having cassettebots that feel and look so much nicer than the tiny microcasette-based Takara ones. I'd like to see them do a Ratbat as well.

 

Well not redundant entirely, your right he wouldnt look too bad on his own, just saying that right now im happy with the MP ratbat and do not mind seeing him being made last ,id really rather see them do a steeljaw, slugfest and overkill( and they could probably sway me to get a rewind and eject, even though in some scenes they were small enough to ride on steeljaw ).

 

I love my MP Ratbat too - in fact he's perched in front of me right now, auditing my fuel - so I don't want to give the impression otherwise. I just feel that ever since his tenure as Marvel's Decepticon Leader was over he's been an also-ran despite his prominence there, getting the occasional repaint or release with Soundblaster, and I'd like to see him get given a new, big toy sooner rather than later. But that's all down to personal preference, and I can see why you'd like to see the rarer cassettes get done soon too.

 

yeah man , i just recently got the THF slugfest and overkill, and just found myself really underwhelmed. Before I was really satisfied with the MP cassettes even after seeing images and reviews of what OM had to offer, but Ever since I (somewhat) involuntarily ended up with Ocular max ravage and frumble (got them in a bulk buy from a seller who didnt wanna separate them from the other bots he was sellin) my whole perspective on what cassettes can and should be changed. My original plan was to just sell the mmc cassettes i ended up with to make some money back, but they were so goof I ended up keeping them, and now I just want MORE haha

 

I remember owning KFC's cassette tapes. What pieces of junk they were. Soooo glad I sold them.

 

If you're only going by the cartoon stuff, maybe. But in the Marvel comics he served as the Decepticon Fuel Auditor was took command of the Decepticons on Earth for awhile. I was pretty into the comic book around that time, and have fond memories of that version of Ratbat. A bigger OX Ratbat would be perfect for that.

 

I might be in for a Ratbat if it was slightly larger then the official but better built and articulated. Other then that, I'm not really interested in one as large as their Laserbeak mold.

Was great. But so was the arc where they blew up the Throttlebots, but one of the scientists put their brains in RC cars, which were subsequently chased by Ratbat and the Predacons. And the time that Ratbat and Shockwave launched the Decepticon's island headquarters into space...

I was hoping they would do the autobot cassettes. Bring on ramhorn, steeljaw, rewind and eject and then a ratbat please! Anything beyond those is just gravy baby!!

 

Dont forget slugfest and overkill !  

 

What about the combined tapes? Squaktalk beastbox and for autobots the plane and the tank?

 

If these are up to the same standards as Jaguar, Riot and Furor, then count me in.

 

That, and they both have knees, and really, really large feet.
