My Volatus that I've had on preorder for ages finally arrived from BBTS and I must say I adore his alt mode. For anyone who has had him since the original release do I need to worry about these puzzle piece shaped tabs on his sides and wings?

The only parts that gave me trouble were the thruster nozzles, I had to disassemble them in order to transform him into shuttle mode.

I was a bit worried about them too, initially, but they seem strong after handling, and you never have to "angle" them out oddly or anything, you should always be able to do a "perfect 90-degree rotation" to unlock them and fold down etc, without applying stress anywhere. I want to say everything went a lot smoother after the first time. They only need like one transformation sequence to "break in".

::edit:: The ones where the front half and back half of the wings connect to each other, that's the only one where it can take just a slight bit of "fiddling", but the odd angles are much more moving the part itself, than unlocking the tab.

Did anyone getting the Volatus reissue receive the alternate animation-accurate head? Mine did not, and upon talking with Rob at TFSource, it looks like it was only included with the initial run. It's a damn shame too, that was the icing on the cake for the figure.

Vortex just arrived and he's fantastic, once again the engineering isn't overdone (like a lot of official MPs are IMO), the paint is really nice and each mode is so clean. I also like how he scales with Earthrise Starscream, as inaccurate as it is.

Also, mine doesn't decapitate himself in transformation humble brag.

The extra head for Volatus was only part of the first run

If the Impetus re-release can keep his head on I'll actually re-purchase him. Can anybody who's bought the re-release confirm this?

I've only had the reissue and didn't know that was ever an issue, so I suppose it's confirmed.

Stability and size of Partsforming combiners + the much better looking molds of MMC's Combaticons.

No idea which one's you've handled but they're generally regarded as the most stable combiners.

It's one of the reasons they have their fans aside from the size.

I have Armageddon. They have a lot of fans due to simplicity, the big size, proportions and that they are generally affordable. Most of them are stable, but that feature is not intrinsic to pantsformers.

So, the one most known for being the least stable of the partsforming combiners, who's issues were than fixed in later Bruticon releases?

It weighs a LOT, that wasn't fixed, its stability is just average.
