He's paid off. I usually just wait until its incredibly likely it will come out in the next couple of weeks, and just place a paid pre-order then. Of course, occasionally I guess wrong, like in this case, where I actually paid for Fraudo back in September. Owel, hopefully its not too much longer!

 

Ahhh, ok. I wasn't sure if they unfolded into a bunch of things or just that.

 

I often do the same, but I also preorder some items without paying so I can add other items to the order and get free shipping when they all show up. In this case I ordered Jabber and Fraudo together but I don’t think I’ll add anything else.

 

I know it has probably already been stated but I can't find the answers to the following;

1. Is the add on kit a seperate purchase or packed in with a figure?
2. Do the add on pieces have a place to go in the individual bot and alt modes?
3. Can someone buy this set for me for Christmas?

I don't know the answer to the second one, but for the first its a separate purchase. Its on the various sites that do have it up for pre-order as "PS-14 Plus Assaultus Upgrade Kit".

 

This is stunning, I love it.

 

at this time, due the the electronics in the head, there won't be a black head for the upgrade kit unfortunately.

 

I might have to rethink getting this set. You should remove the electronics if they stand in the way of getting us a black head. I've never used any electronics on any of my figures as an adult.

 

AFAIK the only piece that doesn't have anywhere to go in other modes are the feet. They can become part of Onslaught's trailer in alt mode but I don't think it can store or become anything in the individual bot modes.

Why are there electronics in Onslaught's head?

 

Let me think it over, I'd have to cancel my Swindle order that I made...last night. A black head on Onslaught is really important to me, for all its many terrible flaws the Combiner Wars version of this set at least got the decos right.

So we can make his eyes light up like Feral Rex, one of the most useless features of all time and one of that figures' biggest flaws. Just paint it red, it looks better!

 

Light up feature for the eyes, which also doubles for the combined form since the gestalt head is a helmet that encloses Onslaught's head.

 

Oh. I much prefer painted eyes. No batteries, no gimmicks, always look good, less hassle.

 

Man the toy chest and gun are really selling it but I just don’t think I’m gonna fork it all for the price.

What's the problem with Feral Rex's eyes?

 

They're dead without electronics. Love the figure, but I would've much preferred paint instead of a light-up feature--I don't like to leave batteries in my figures long-term. It's not a big deal on Feral Rex because it didn't effect anything else, but on Assaultus electronics are costing us a black toy-style head and as such they need to go.

 

I don't mind the dead eyes on Feral Rex myself, given the original toy had a black visor. It manages to work both looks into the toy.

 

But Predaking is supposed to have a black visor, so it works for him.
