I wonder if someone’s tried to do the photograph scale measurement with a figure they know to get an idea of size.

 

I am personally against add on feet because it will make the legs look desproportionate. But am perfectly ok with them being an option for the ones who cares about the height (but not necessarily "scale").

That reminds me of Feral Rex and his "tallest" setting... What people do for a small increase in height!

 

Be confident with your size. Artificial enhancement is not needed, confidence is key Assaultus!

 

Looks like from feet to knees is the size of Impetus, so around 7.5”


Then knee to neck is OP MP-10, so around 9.5”.


Then another inch or so for the combiner head. So around 18” or 45cm seems right.

Well, sure, I can see the greebles and seams that are bothering you, and I agree (to a point) that they detract from the overall aesthetic. That doesn't necessarily mean that I agree that makes them CHUG, though. And frankly, however eloquently you've explained why you think they look CHUG, greebles and seams certainly seem to be "things you don't like."

I think you're maybe getting caught up on the wording of my advice that your missing the larger point, though. And that's on me, I definitely could have worded it better. To be clear, I'm not saying that my definition of CHUG is the only correct one, I'm saying the line between CHUG and MP is subjective and that it's not really worth getting worked up if someone says they think something is CHUG and you think it's MP or vice-versa. In other words, just because you or someone else say that this set is CHUG doesn't mean someone else with different notions of what is and isn't MP needs to start with the whole, "well actually it's MP." At the end of the day everyone will do what they feel is right for their own collection and it doesn't matter if some guy on the internet thinks you're mixing CHUGs with MPs or whatever.

Just to weigh in on the debate - I’m also not really sure as to whether these fit the MP aesthetic or whether they’re more ‘chugsterpiece’. Almost like they sit on the line between the two? I hate to be a ‘both sides’ guy but... I do genuinely see both sides of the argument.

Either way, I’m buying this set purely for the fact that it looks cool, and that it’s a crazy-amazing piece of engineering. It may or may not end up being displayed with my MP collection, but what I do know is that I’ll definitely make a place for it somewhere.

Just noticed that PSX updated Vortex/Impetus' date to August 5th. Could be that this guy is finally coming out, though we've gotten a couple of dates before.
