If that’s the only thing people can critique, then MMC should be patting themselves on the back for a job well done. That’s a nonissue imo, and would wager it’s the same for most other collectors

While they have done a very commendable job, it's not exactly a nonissue. A couple of people have voiced their disappointment and I kinda agree. The wheels inside the shoulders was a very interesting and unique look, and an integral part of that specific design imo. One of the biggest reasons I like that design so much. That biggest reason is also the reason I'm not a big fan of this one. Mostly everything else looks top notch, but the one thing I'd be most excited for about this comic design being adapted into a figure isn't even present here

Have they said anything about what the PSX exclusive for this one will be? I caved today and pre-ordered for the first time through them.

Ah yes. E v e r y t h i n g was sacrificed for articulation. Nevermind the fully functional super articulated transformable Optimus Prime toy that clearly resembles its source material, it's all gone, drowned by ambition and passion, blegh.

The new head looks great except for that nose bridge. Not a fan of that prominent split between the bottom silver and the blue top. Of course if both heads are included then it's a non-problem for me.

Animated Deluxe Optimus Prime Earth Mode has the wheels inside the shoulders if you need a fix.

Honestly, I think that while it would ultimately have been cool for the tires inside the shoulders, with Optus Plexus the obvious intention was to make a super articulated figure first and the way those shoulder joints work, the big front wheels simply couldn't fit as they would occupy the space for the shoulders to move above the upper right corner of the chest window.

Granted, based on those pairs of square holes on those shoulder joints, it may yet be possible to come up with some extra bits that clip into those to resemble the shoulder wheels, seeing as how the actual wheels are tucked low enough on the back to be out of sight from a front profile view.

But if you look hard enough you can see the new head is in our hearts. And has been all along.

I still wish they kept the eye design though, feels more alive.

@RVDA, @LazyAza, or @griffith76 do you know if MMC is willing to set that test shot of Optus Pexus? I'm eyeing it with interest, and wouldn't mind having it to display with the finished product.

It is just such a freaking good looking figure.

It belongs to Byrin. Just relax and wait for the production copies. If you want more than one Pexus so bad you'd be smarter to hold out for the inevitable recolors anyway.[

Really? I honestly thought he would be in the $200 range judging on there reformatted pricing. Thank you for bringing this to my attention though.

It's not about having it now, like I said I have a production copy preordered. It's about owning a prototype, some history of the figure, not about having it first.

And who said I wasn't getting he recolors? Lot of assumptions in your post and only one take away; it's not for sale.

But I guess thank you for answering.

Oh sorry I just figured since the test version looks 99% completely identical to what the production copies will look like you couldn't possibly have any reason to want it besides having the toy sooner. My bad.

Still that does make me wonder what would even be the appeal there. Like if it looked radically different, had unfinished details or some weird errors or was entirely matte grey or something, then I could understand but given that's not the case it does seem odd you'd desire such a thing.

I mean it might still be coming with the production copies we don't know yet. Tor got an entirely new head and his old one was not only still included it got a bonus visor too lol.

I looooooove the bonus visor. It's my favorite PSX exclusive to date.
