I just picked this up on a whim, I got the original Optus and loved it, but I couldn't resist those new accessories! It's weird to say but it almost makes it feel like a new figure, it just opens up so many more display opportunities!

 

Just got him in today. Third version for me of this mold, only missing the Nemesis variant unfortunately.

Like Peaugh already showed in his review, I've given the extra gun parts to the Purple version, that looks awesome.

But can anyone tell me where these bits are supposed to go? Nothing in the instructions about them. Although the Matrix isn't in the instructions/parts list either, just the handles.

Crazy poseability and balance, comes with a cane (hammer minus the hammer blade). Would it be possible...

Given that my major interest in this hobby is the transformation of each figure, I try to avoid the temptation to double-dip on what are essentially variations of the same design. Having Optus Pexus already, I’ve held off on the nemesis and SG decos (and the maskless face almost sold me), but I might need to get this latest one.

 

I've been holding off on this figure completely because this scale of IDW does not fit my collection. But this latest release... It's getting really hard not to press the buy button...

I probably will get this in February if none of my other MP or Legends preorders request payment. This one is just an amazing bot drenched in awesome sauce.

 

I only was interested in this guy because I picked up the generations selects super megatron, and had no prime for him... I think the star convoy was his pairing in the manga, but star convoy was too large (iirc). I dunno if that helps you or not   I figured if it didn't match up, I could always stand him with mmc getaway/whirl/roadbuster.

 

Star Convoy is actually meant to be a lot bigger than Super Megatron funny enough, his Selects Figure is too small even lol

 

Oh weird-- so more like MMC's star convoy (who appears to be 2x the size of optus pexus lol)?

 

Not sure if that'd be the exact scale (not that there is one lol Battlestars is text blurbs and a few pieces of box art) but yeah Super Megatron is supposed to be a sizable bot...but Star Convoy is meant to be b i g

 

My main collection is G1 MP... Secondary collection is G1 legends, tertiary is MP scaled IDW (GCreations) and then I have some random bots. I'll probably just stick him with the random bots or make him a desk bot to toy with when I'm working.

 

G-Creations Prowl is actually shorter than SXS’ and MMC’s Rodimus. He may be “MP car bot size,” but MP car bots are just voyagers.

Prime is also shorter in the comics, than he is in “MP scale” — he doesn’t tower over the likes of the carbots like he does in his G1/MP scale.

Likewise, every TFM/GT Stunticon (except MotorMaster who IS “MP scale chart” size) also scales perfectly with this Prime as well (if you have those).

GC & TFM/GT’s stuff can absolutely “be used” with him

As soon as the possibility of a blue Diaclone Powered Convoy deco was mentioned, that was the one I was going for. Didn't buy the first, seriously considered the black repaint (to repaint further into a cybertronian mode Optimus Primal), the purple was interesting because I don't have a purple Optimus, but no. I'm going for the blue version.

(Might do a part swap when/if we do get the Powered Convoy deco to make an Elite Guard Optimus and an Armada Powerlinx deco. At least, that's what I tell myself to justify it. FU MMC with your beautiful figures  )
