Just recieved my Optus Prominon after deciding to keep my pre-order, even with recent issues I've had with MMC. The figure looks really good out of packaging, but I must say that people may hype the figure too much.

While it's indeed very poseable, there are very dumb limitations with how some parts of the sculpt have been handled. The biceps in particular are very annoying as they tend to clash with the shoulderpads as soon as you rotate them inwards without lifting the arm up. A very similar problem happens at the thigh, with the panel at the back of the thigh bumping inton the rear of the waist very quickly when you rotate the thigh outwards.

Tolerances can be pretty bad too, with the shoulders and thighs also, while the joints the shoulders are mounted on are a bit too happy to move when trying to move the shoulder itself. Also, the forearm guns are impossible to pull out of their mounting point without the attachment piece staying in the forearm instead of coming with the guns. Because of that, the sliding rail on both my forearms guns are already getting looser, which is not fun.

I don't want to discourage anyone from buying it because the figure looks gorgeous and does pose well, and this version is clearly why the mold was created, but I can't say my problems with it are nitpicks either. I would still recommend it, but more as a display piece than a fiddling toy.

Huh, thank you for the input :) .

I have Optis Pexus (Orion Pax cop aka robot Smedley Butler :lol ) and I never really had an issue fiddling with him. In fact I think he may be as much fun if not more so than my MDLX Optimus.

My hope is that he will be just as awesome as his original mold but with more Thundewing killing power :D . After all he is trading in his ornamental forearm cannons and peacekeeper issued Ionblasters for some serious firepower.

Yeah, any stiffness can be fixed with a DROP of the stuff.

On the opposite end, it I'd good to.habr kiko drops hamdy for loose joints.

That may work, but it would require to disassemble the biceps, and I don't really see how it's possible, with paint and no screws. Also, I shouldn't have to do that in the first place!

I also realized that my copy has a pin that hasn't been cut correctly. I'm not sure I have the appropriate tools to take care of that.

You know what would be an awesome repaint to go with an Armada Galvatron Eris?

Just got this figure in. I'll echo the sentiment about the arm cannon tabs tending to stick in the forearms than the guns themselves. Bicep and thighs are scary tight, so lube that up just a smidge. Otherwise though? This thing rocks. I have the original release but haven't touched it in forever, but this reminded me why I loved the mold so much.

(Shame that I'm selling much of my Reformatted stuff but this guy's staying.)

Lol did notice after taking these my left hip was around the wrong way, luckily just a matter of rotating it around and swiveling the thigh.

Interesting engineering change with the side skirts now being mounted to the waistline which is more filled in rather than being hinged to the butt plate like the originals.

Or he got on a reality show that gave him an extreme makeover. He went from zero to hero! (Not that the OG was anywhere close to a 0, but the Stormbringer version is pretty badass.)

It looks like a guy who has been fighting a war for a loooooooong time.

Anyway can't wait, you guys do AMAZING work, my only complaint is there is not more of it :) .

PS: Make Ironhide/Ratchet out of Roller or Roadbuster (I'm not picky new head and red/white paint job) :D

Speaking of repaints, I hope the inevitable Diaclone/Delta Magnus/Magna Convoy repaint is based on the Stormbringer version of the mold.

Now I think about it, that's gonna be a TCP convention exclusive, isn't it? That's kinda their thing. But that means it'll be late October at the earliest. Phooey.
