I’ve started using him as an example of when a 3rd party release is at its very best. Sure he’s not 100% perfect but he’s pretty damn close.

Yeah I agree, you could get a nice MTMTE Skids out of GCreation Prowl.

Also I think the key to recommending realistic figures to be done to MMC is 1) repaint potential 2) current 1st and 3rd party market exposure (I.e. is this character, in a similar size, currently occupying the market by another company?) and 3) character Popularity (A/B list guy? Or cult following with a dedicated fanbase?).

Misfire would be great but You need the rest of the Scavengers as well. Misfire, Spinister,Crankcase,Krok,Flywheels,Fulcrum and Grimlock. It's crazy that any of them haven't been made by MMC yet consider how big of a arc they had in IDW,MTMTE,LOST LIGHT.MMC we want the Scavengers Please!!!!

Gotta admit, Hasbro Flywheels is actually pretty good. An MMC version would be better. The others definitely need figures though.

    He’s great.

I’m pretty positive MMC would never make a Flywheels because of this. I think LazyAza also chimes in at one point and said something along those lines as well.

I agree Flywheels want get made because of the Hasbro version but it isn't what MMC would produce, but Spinister has a toy but it isn't IDW spinister, Misfire samething so I say make them all but then again I'm not paying the Bill's and making the decision at MMC so....

I’d love for those that want them would be able to get them, but I’d be content with just Misfire. I’d be very tempted by a Spinister though..they’d be a pair of Mercenaries on my 3rd party shelf

    Agreed
There hasn't been and probably never will be a transformer that is 100% perfect. By the materials they are made of, or not being accurate to the comics, tv shows, movies, etc. By measurements of part accuracy and/or color pigment. The transformation from robot mode to alt mode (if it doesn't transform then it's a monoformer not a transformer). Especially Visualible of kibble, screws, tabs, holes. And the list can go on.

I realised this the other day, every figure I own has flaws to some degree whether it’s a QC problem or a design problem. It just depends what you’re personally willing to deal with when investing in these figures.
In regards of the screw holes and such, I’ve never really considered that as a reason not to get a figure. Sometimes they really do look ugly if the placement is questionable. There’s an older figure I’m thinking of that had one side of the head with the screw hole I think it was a classics or a UT figure. I always get reminded of it when talking about build and design choices but can never remember what it actually is..

In the case of Pexus, I love the articulated fingers but man is it annoying and fiddly trying to get them lined up properly with the shins going to vehicle mode. Not the worst thing in the world but kinda dampens the fun when he does everything else really well. He’s earned a permanent deskbot space.

I received my replacement arm from Toy Dojo today! Now I finally have a complete Optus Pexus. I'd held off from messing with the figure too much because I didn't want the QC to skew my perspective. But yeah, as almost everyone has said, this guy is awesome. Figure of the year, more than likely. Everyone involved should feel proud.

Oh man, I just recently found out about this figure. It looks so good. I just wish it was a little bigger. I tend to collect the bigger figures and at only around 7 inches, it's a little small for my display. I wish they made one around 9 inches.

He's more like 7 and 3/4 inches. I don't know if that helps.

In hand he’s quite generously sized for a third party figure that isn’t MP. He’s like voyager + and a 1/2 maybe but he also has some bulk to him which helps him have a larger presence. I think any bigger and all the articulation and joints would be really annoying to deal with. He’s in the sweet spot for easy playability and size.

I think he's considered "Ultra" sized. Whatever that means.

    Scale people will know.

    And argue about it.

He is meant for a chugsterpiece scale so at just under 8 inches he is perfect imo, honestly if you picked him up and handled him I think it might change your mind. But if your into masterpiece then probably not.

Yeah, I know there's designed for they scale they want to match with. It really is an impressive figure and I have my eye on it.

I wonder how the articulation compares with the Transcraft Movie Bumblebee? That was also released recently and has some amazing articulation. I think this one wins in the waist and hands, but I wonder if it's as stable as Bee? That figure can do a 1 hand handstand without toppling.
