They got me hooked. Was waiting for XTB Springer but they burned me on their Menasor trailer bullshit. MMC has released the top figures in my collection and it's a great balance of quality and price.

 

A small increase, especially coming from a store that regularly offers free shipping on preorders, is fair when international shipping and the associated costs are crazy messed up right now.

 

Agreed. Though since MMC doesn't do PSX-exclusive accessories with the OX stuff and only Reformatted, guess i'll be sticking with TCP for this.

 

Saltus is an absolute pleasure. Looks great, fun to transform, sturdy, scaled well, and very, VERY well articulated. His presence is top-notch, and he screams “Springer”. The one liberty MMC took was with the car mode being more stylized than the toy or toon. But frankly Saltus’ car mode looks much better than the toy/toon car, so I’m happy it’s not as accurate. Springer’s car is not a “real life” vehicle, nor is it an iconic design (IMHO), so honestly I’m glad MMC went their own way with it.

At $150, he’s a steal.

 

Yeah, I think I might need to swap out mine for this one. Always felt the colors were too bright on it. This really hits that sweet spot where it's still colorful but not overpoweringly so.

 

I love Saltus, but I'd not rate the car as one of its high point. The rear end sort of looks like it's given up not looking like a crotch and legs doing a squat.

I love Saltus to death, it looks amazing with Azalea, and it's on my MP shelf, but the car mode's definitely not the toy's high point.

Definitely not feeling the new one's colors. That pale yellow on the chest really does nothing for me, will stick with my original one.

 

Does this new one come with all of the previous heads? I’m interested in it, but I would hate to loose the Ox head in the process.

The price on PSX also looks a little lower on this one than the original so is it also loosing some accessories? I wouldn’t mind swapping/selling my old one for this new version, but that would complicate things.

 

Agreed. I legit don't think it can get better than this. Aside from the chest vent, which i'd personally like to be painted all yellow and made a deeper sculpt.

Aside from that, can't wait for the inevitable Fudgsicle repaint.

Yeah if you weren’t into the colours last time I’m sure this would be more appealing for the toon springer enthusiast.

I’d have also really liked to get a toy deco. Especially a fully green head.

Wow, cool! I missed my chance to get a v1 at a decent price because I waited too long. I thought I was good with Allen but his feet annoy me and now it's time for an upgrade.

I like the new colors a bit better. They're closer to the toon while the brighter green was closer to the toy.

Let's wait until XTB show their final product - but I don't trust them anymore. Besides that I've enjoyed all MMC figures that I ended up buying. They're a fine company with great designs.

 

I’ve had Allen since day one and really want to buy Saltus but I doubt anyone would buy Allen off me. Especially with people dumping big spring for less than $100. Looks like I’ll be lying in that bed I made

 

Allen is a hilarious name. I would love a third party company just naming everyone with boring ass names. Hotrod could be Dave, Arcee is Sally, Ultra Magnus could be Frank.

 

Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. Maybe I'll just sell him for $60 or I'll keep him for my boy until he's old enough to handle him. He looks like a Fisher Price toy after all. Lol!

I like the darker 'olive' green and the grey bits but, as @Ghilz said, the light yellow on the chest grill looks out of place.
