Fair enough. Still, it would have looked awesome.
Try folding the bot-mode hipskirts down to support the helicopter upright.
they sell landing gear? If only Daca had known about that...
Got mine. Not sure if I will keep it. It's a good figure don't get me wrong, lots of heft and really cool poseability. But I dunno, I guess he's just kind of too bland for me. It's weird because I didn't feel that way when I saw it in pictures, but when I had it in hand...You know, stuff like how it becomes really obvious that the torso is essentially a rectangular block. Might sound super nitpicky but yeah, it weirdly bothers me. Having an additional ab crunch under the chest would probably have helped at least with that.
That's unfortunate. Give it more time and it'll eventually grow on you. For me it was the other way around when I got MP-28 Hotrod. I saw pictures of MP-28 and didn't like it, I didn't dislike it but at the time I preferred FT Hoodlum. When reviews came out, well, I gravitated towards MP-28 instead. Eventually I caved in and bought it, when I got it in person I really loved it. It's flawed, but it's good enough for me to gloss over it.
To me Hotrod was blocky but in-hand it really doesn't bother me anymore. I guess it just comes down to tricking yourself into liking it, not because it was a regretful purchase or anything, but to appreciate the figure overall. I think you're paying too much attention to one aspect of the figure, since you pointed out more good things about it than bad. Of course, it's your decision but that's what I think.
Sorry if this has been asked again and again but, what paint number did you use for the face? I really prefer the look of your paint, it looks great! I wish more MPs had a panel-lined mouth like MP-36, I really brings out the most of their facesculpt. Also what'd you use as the Autobot logo? I might go with that too.
Hm, interesting idea.
I need more Apache comparisons ... fuck, the decision between the two is driving me to an early grave ... ;(
That's the first thing I noticed. Having bought and sold quite a bit of OM figures, I feel they are a bit of an acquired taste .... for me. If you like it, more power to you.
I'm favoring Saltus at this point, but I'd hate to influence anyone and then they don't like it as well as Apache. The more time I spend with Saltus the more I like him and favor him. It's not perfect, but what figure is? I also like him better in person now than I did just looking at the pictures.
MP Dinobot but it might also be helped by the fact I block my ears and shout loudly if anyone tries to point out any of his (non-existent lalalala-I-can't-hear-you) flaws.

Every time you come across an especially dense (usually black) piece of plastic on a transformer toy, chances are very high its POM. It's an ideal material for joints in particular and mmc has used it many many times on many of their toys.
I really like Allen by Unique Toys.
I mean I dunno. What’s the real trouble you’re having?
Dang that bend is incredible. His foot is missing!

seriously , saltus is way too good. But that doesn't mean I will go to buy Azalea. That figure is problematic. while I think it's better than Rouge , its build is.. confusing
There we go. Gonna watch soon.
