side by side mmc's beats FT's IMO. the thigh swivel would look like a hip swivel if moved up a few millimeters but on a rounded leg its not horrible....kfc's blasters mid thigh sweivel eally breaks the mold. this one...it an acceptable compromise i'd say.

 

Not bad at all! Although despite being a fairly vocal FT critic, I don't see him as a massive improvement over Apache so far. Especially with that damn mid-thigh swivel. Since I already have Apache, I think I'll wait on XTB's version before deciding between the 3 as my "final" Springer.

Really happy I gambled on this guy and missed out on Fanstoys effort. I always really liked the longer horns/ears head but the stern looking toon head is looking a little less chubby in these pics, which is nice. Overall if the tolerances are good, and the transformation isn't a nightmare then this guy is a big win.

I pass by my local hobby store to pick my two MP-43 and I was very tempted to preorder this guy, to me, the car mode alone is worth the preorder. But I need to know more about the articulation in robot mode before doing so...

 

What is there to know that hasn't been pictured? Pretty sure all he's really missing is the super fancy buttefly shoulders and such compared to the current slate of MPs, but he's got double-jointed elbows and knees and an ab crunch, at least.

 

The type of joints: friction, ratchets, "dedicated " friction joints, etc!

RoboToyBase is saying they have Saltus, will see how many more say they have it over the weekend.

 

FWIW I saw and held Saltus briefly at the TFCon Chicago last October and he felt really cheap and shiny and crappy in hand and not worth at all what MMC will be charging for him. I don't know, maybe they've made design improvements in the seven months since, but call me skeptical. I'd really like to wait for XTB Virtus, but who the hell knows if that's ever gonna happen? Supposedly they're going to release him after Locke, but they haven't even released Neptune yet and they still have three other Stunticons (and all their dumb G2 repaints and the inevitable giftsets) working too...

God, I'm gonna have to settle for this pos aren't I?

What felt cheap about it out of curiosity? This sucker looks jam packed with diecast and generally MMC plastics etc feel pretty good.

 

Not sure it’s hard to remember specifics from seven months ago. I just remember generally being put off by it. Which parts were diecast and which were plastic seemed random and there were all these different shades of green that were off-putting. I just remember being really unimpressed by both him and the MMC Onslaught...

I’ll probably end up caving and settling for it just because I don’t have a Springer and don’t have much faith in XTB releasing theirs.
