didn't necessarily mean wait, because this is why you preorder.
it was more about the choice of PSX over any other retailer.

I bought first release Ignis from Bombusbee for 176euro shipped, no tax.
if I were to buy from PSX it's 176, plus shipping plus taxes, so it will be a 40-50euro difference

Only because by admitting it in public, you've now made an HMRC list.

the way PSX sends and declares makes it a taxed package for the EU, so for "us" it's not interesting to buy from PSX over BBB or shows, unless you can't get it elsewhere

every country has its rules, you're already lucky to be out of EU

PSX is in Hong Kong, so it might have to do with tax treaties that are in place since the "lease" on the colony ended in 1997.

Correction, you did pay taxes just through BBB.

Stores like BBB and Show.Z handle the taxes for you: it's part of the shipping cost. This has an incredible advantage because it's only taxes, while custom agencies also declare costs.

the way they handle taxes, is by checking a box that says "tax paid"

because here in Netherlands, everything from outside of EU is taxed 21%, but also import duties of around 4-5%

how could I have paid real taxes at TFsafari for instance, if I pay 6 euro for shipping on a 240euro figure

I'm just talking about the VAT (in our case: BTW), not the import taxes.

Originally everything that was either marked gift or had a value below 22 euro, was free from VAT. But the EU implemented new VAT regulation: VAT was now applied to every package entering the EU.

In response to this, several Chinese stores have made arrangements. The VAT has to be paid. But it can be paid by the customer when the package enters the EU (with an additional charge), or it can be handled by the one shipping the package. In that case the seller calculates the import taxes (21% of the value) and adds this to the shipping costs.

If you buy from Show.Z or BBB you have to list the country to which it will be shipped. With Show.Z you'll notice that shipping to for example the USA is free, but for the EU there are shipping charges. Except those are not the shipping charges but the import taxes. You'll pay them to the store, the store pays them to shipping company as part of shipping costs, and the shipping company pays them to EU customs.

(Show.Z cheats a bit, because they don't put the real value on the box (and from your describtion, neither does TFsafari) resulting in a lower value and thus lower VAT costs.)

But this whole situation has been confirmed here on the boards by employees from Show.Z. (Best I could find with a quick search: linky). I also currently have a shipment en route from BBB and the tracking reads "Pre-declaration of the item has been received by customs", or in other words: it's still in China, but EU customs has already been informed and the declaration has been taken care off.

The same applies to buying from Amazon, except they're more upfront about it. If you buy from an Amazon that's not in the EU Amazon calculates the VAT and you have to pay this to Amazon, and they pay it to customs.

The majority of Asian retailers we buy from utilize a completely different system, but I'll not discuss that here in the open l because I like it the way it is and don't feel like jeopardizing it.

Let's just say I never received a parcel from either mentioned shops that had a) any form of customs declaration on it or b) a label that would somehow suggest those parcels are from China.

It's different when I buy at Robotoybase, Bababobo or (probably) PSX - I haven't ordered with PSX yet, but I will order Drift.

    Thank you!

I've been waiting for this listing, because they've usually had the pre-order quite early and stock arrives in about the same timeframe as dispatch from China and import to the UK. However I notice that this listing is for a November delivery?

It's a curiousity, if nothing else.

I would expect he is somewhere in the midwest halfway home from Toronto right now. It will go up once he is home I'm sure.

I figured it was better to redirect here from the Assaultus thread given the content. Here is everything I'm aware of for A Hot Spot, an old mockup that is out of date and Aza's reply about some of the changes that are not seen on the mockup.
