Not all third party companies are cheaper on ShowZ. MMC and Planet X is often the same price and occasionally more expensive on ShowZ compared to domestic retailers. On the other hand, some third party companies like NewAge are always cheaper on ShowZ - sometimes comically so.

 

Anything from Newage. Most stuff has a good price on there but as an example Newage Grimlock is 112 on tfsource, toydojo, etc, and $70 on showz

 

My order (Medicus on sale and Navigant) shipped from BBTS via FedEx Smartpost and is estimated to arrive February 2. They clearly had the inventory in-hand.

 

Mine (discount Medicus) should be here tomorrow--got in town today. "DHL e-commerce" for me. Not really slower or faster than BBTS's usual shopping.

 

Just got my Medicus and I'm terribly frustrated with him. I couldn't fully get him into vehicle mode because I couldn't get the legs pegged in even with IMMENSE force - no matter how I oriented the combiner hands (which seemed to be the issue). I eventually gave up and tried to bring him back to robot mode, but now the little panels on the legs do not fit flush (probably the hands again?). Is there some kind of trick here? I watched Paik's/MMC's video and I'm pretty sure I had it lined up as he did.

As a warning to others, I should note that all my tolerances are disastrously tight, like the comic opposite of Hasbro's mainline looseness. I snapped a plastic spudger trying to move his arms in transformation.

 

Could you take a picture of how you're orienting the hands?

For vehicle mode, the best advice I have is to be sure the circled parts here are snapped together BEFORE you slide the combiner fingers in. Just keep the panel with the combiner hand swung out and then thread those suckers in.

The fingers take a bit of practice, but you'll get used to where they need to be.

 

This all does NOT sound like an MMC experience at all.

Not trying to be rude, but this sounds more like user error/experience

 

Does my Medicus have a mis-painted roof or are they all like this?

Im certain that should be white.

 

I'm pretty sure they're all like that. That's the way mine is as well. The white paint is thin enough that the translucent blue underneath shows through just a bit.

Mines in robot mode atm or I would check but I am sure I wouldve noticed it at the time (been about half a year I guess).

 

I noticed it on mines the other day, but I couldn't remember if it was always like that or not.

For bot mode, there are a few tricks you can use. Fold the combiner fingers in first, then slide the leg down over them.


For the tabs on the side of the thigh, be sure the slider is all the way down and clicked into position. If the combiner fingers aren't right, it will absolutely interfere with that slider.

You can also flip back this panel so you can see where the one tab goes in and check if it's misaligned.

 

Yes, there's a difference in white from the solid plastic to the transparent. It looks better or worse depending on the lighting.

 

Looks like they forgot to add the final coat of paint. The difference is discernible on my copy, but you have to look closely to see it.
