I found that it tends to happen on the right leg (like in that pic) and that folding and unfolding often seem to just make the same issue happen repeatedly without good odds of fixing it---pushing in on the thighs, when "already folded up into car mode" seems to work better, to get the knee/bumper positioned right when it "doesn't want to cooperate when folding it into car mode".

for whatever reason I popped off the rear window pieces and it gave me enough clearance to line things up a bit better. The knee bend seems to be the source of the issue.

You have to unfold it, straighten the knee joint, then take care to fold the rear half over while making sure the knee doesn't bend again while doing it. The knee is, as @msol said, where the misalignment originates.

In my experience, due to stiffness (or lack thereof) of certain joints----maintaining alignment while folding is very difficult. But pressing on the thighs afterwards is very easy, to accomplish the same thing.

My copy is frustratingly asymmetrical regarding joints---one belly plate is very stiff, the other flops around freely on its hinge. One knee lines up in car mode almost automatically, the other constantly fights me.

Mileage varies. It's impossible on mine to get them to line up by pressing them after they've already been folded over. I only fixed it by unfolding and holding the knee straight while refolding over.

Both techniques are valid, then, depending on the tolerances of your particular copy.

I think Navigant is comparable to FT's Stunticon limb bots: typical MP carbot sized car that expands into a tall bot with no (or extremely minimum) back.

Just ordered Navigant. I originally had no interest in this combiner mainly because I felt the bike would always look so ridiculously oversized in alt modes, but Navigant itself... I just want him for now. Something about this figure is checking off some subconscious box of G1 toy in my mind. When I look at him in either mode, he reminds me of seeing G1 toys as a kid... I think its the basic look of being an 80s everyman's sports car... the windshield chest and rear window legs... the bland deco that somehow still calls to be picked up and transformed. I don't know exactly what it is, but it is just doing it for me and I can't wait to have this guy. Not sure if I'll spring for any others yet.

I’m so sorry, you asked me to do this comparison for you yesterday but with everything that was going on Christmas-wise, I completely forgot. I’m glad somebody helped you out though!

Absolutely terrific figure. I couldn’t be much happier with it.

So ToyDojo listed Navigant as a preorder, does anyone know if they have him in stock and ship as needed or not?

    Hello everyone,
After getting medicus recently and remember how fun the bruticus combiner was I started messing with him. Unfortunately because I can't hold things. Apparently I dropped vortex and the bar for the propeller snapped off. Does anyone know the contact for MMC?

Yes actually, I had to contact them for an incorrect install on Incursus. Quick reply, and friendly emails, but be prepared for a bit of a wait. But it will arrive.

I feel the same way about Groove’s alt mode being completely out of scale, but then I thought I might instead get a second Navigant and paint it up like Red Alert, making a fire chief car out of it. Or, I could wait and get G2 Navigant (assuming MMC issues that deco).
Honestly, I never assemble the combiners anyway— I just buy these for the individual bots. I might not even complete the set if I don’t them all.
