Did we even know this was coming?

I've not been spending much time on the 3p forum of late.

 

Who'd ever thought there would be an Inferno war? What a time to be in this hobby!

 

What is it with the name Vulcan and firetrucks? Maketoys Not Hotspot is also named Vulcan.

But then again PX Grimlock is named ... Vulcan.

 

And not to be confused with the MMC/OX as-yet-unnamed Hotspot.

I assume this question will come up, but here's the only Studio OX art (or at least, what I'm guessing is Studio OX art) of Inferno I could Google up quickly.

MMC's big head wings seem to be an artistic liberty, but they look cool.

 

Man here I was thinking "Maybe I'll get a version of Inferno." but now it's like "Oh no, which version will I get?".

 

I like my Inferno to be a tubby, so I am getting Maketoy's.

 

Working doors, ladder, and platform stabilizer!

 

I'm loving the details on this too. I was nearly sold on the Maketoys version but MMC may have swayed me.

 

Waist looks a little odd, not a fan of the oversized wings either. I think the best design is yet to come.

 

And all XTB showed was a CG render, how lazy. This looks good though and makes it hard to pick from MT or MMC.

 

This to me is the best firetruck mode of the 3. And I like that the feet are not big like the other 2. But bot mode looks a bit lanky and the big head wings are off putting.

 

Agreed on your first two points, but I like Inferno to be tall and more slender. It's more reminiscent of the original toy. "Tubbiness" is one of the reasons I didn't like the Universe Voyager that much.

 

Impressive engineering and a really nice alt mode.

But I think the bot mode is ugly compared to MT's. Awkwardly proportioned limbs, stretched torso, stupidly oversized head and kibble wings. Just no thanks I'm very happy to exclusively stick with MT on this one. But I do look forward to other OX stuff from mmc, just hope this weird proportions thing isn't a long running theme, especially given their Mirage is pretty perfect in that regard.

 

Don't like the head wings but so far looks a bit better proportioned than the other. I can't even be bothered to look at whatever XTB are offering so that's not an option anyway.

So I guess MMC will throw another Hound out next? Just so we can have three versions of that guy.

 

It looks like the waist needs to collapse a little. I wonder if it's just a mistransformation or proto issue. But aside from that and what looks like a kind of stretched head, MMC's is looking a lot more accurate than Maketoys. And the alt mode is just no contest at all, MMC's is way better.
