He's a little too busy for my liking. His whole upper body/backpack just kind of blend together.

Can someone with the digital skills recolor him to look like IDW jhiaxus (Before Dark Cybertron arc) ... I honestly feel he could be made into a Jhiaxus hehe.

I feel the same way. Lockdown's a crazy Frankenstein robot that transforms into a Madmax car, not a beautiful and sleek spaceship.

Agreed. Although he almost reminds me of what I might imagine Lockdown would look like with, for lack of a better description, a more Autobot-like appearance. I'd like to imagine him as Animated Lockdown when he was an Autobot long ago.

And he still has the most epic and manly 3rd Party name ever!

 

Lockdown is a guy who constantly altered his body and changed his form and features. That's his character in a nutshell.

So him having an entirely different alt mode and body makes complete sense to me. Why would he, a space fairing bounty hunting, parts scavenging guy that he is stick to a relatively useless earth alt mode when he can be so much more?

An incredibly deadly looking evil jet with a giant mini gun that hauls around a massive storage unit of weapons and heads seems absolutely perfect for him.

 

Bad ass.

 

He doesn't look like Lockdown. He doesn't look like anything. They should make this figure a limited run if they don't want him to be a shelfwarmer. Sure he's cool looking, but there are plenty of cool looking robots out there that actually look like the robots people have attachments to.

Wasn't this guy supposed to be a different (non-TF) character, before legal threats or something (from a company more lawsuit happy than Hasbro) forced them to change to a different infringing IP?

I think they just changed the head to make him "Lockdown."

 

I'll be honest, I think the design elements actually *do* scream Lockdown to me.

 

Yup it sure looks that way. I saw the coloured samples at STGCC but this latest round of photography make the same thing look so much better.

 

Almost all MMC's Reformatted figures are designed with multiple remold characters in mind. This one's no exception.

There are reports that the designer wanted to keep one of the alternates for this figure secret for fear of incurring the wrath of a litigious mouse.
