Is that Encore Bruticus? That release used the modified toolings from Baldigus, so the weapons could combine easily.

The original G1/G2 molds couldn't do that very well. It only sort of works if you're very careful about it. Most of the holes are too shallow, or the gun handles have a round end that barely catches.

Saw a collector get an OS KO of these and a hip skirt/legs kit for the combiner.

Anyone know of a hip skirt/kit that would be good to work with these, even if modified?

    Hi, I've got a question.

UT Warlord has been my Predaking for years since I'm primarily a CHUG collector, but recently I bought a downscaled CHUG-sized KO of Feral Rex. It won't be here for a month, but when I looked up photos of the actual figure, I noticed something. People never seem to really pose their Feral Rex in any kind of dynamic pose, usually at the most his arms are thrust out forward and his elbows aren't really flexed all that much. Leg poseability just doesn't seem a thing.

Does Feral Rex not pose well?

He does not. Joints are weak. I loe him, and he'll always be my Predaking, but he does not pose well.

Joints are fine. He just doesn't have a huge range of motion. Arms are thick, so the elbows only have about 45 degrees of motion (although you can get closer to 90 if you also use Talon and Tigris' hip joints as well), and you can't get too wild with the legs because the feet don't have a huge range of ankle motion to keep them planted on the ground, and if you didn't get Felisabre for the friction pads, or upgrade the feet themselves, then the legs can slip out from under him pretty easily.

Sounds like he's got a lot of the same problems Warlord suffers from.

I can only imagine the KO will have even less articulation than all that, likely will have some scrapped or downgraded joints, but considering what I paid for it, it's a curiosity at best.

Yes, if you don't mind the price, it is the most impressive version of Predaking right now

    Not really my thing design-wise.

I didn't buy the actual Feral Rex to begin with because I don't really buy MP either, I bought the downscaled KO because it's CHUG scaled and cheap.

The individual bots weren't, at least by CW/POTP standards, while Warlord's were.

He's a bit too solid and heavy to really pose dynamically unfortunately. Looks great and is well-scaled to CHUG in combined mode, does reasonably well in individual Beast mode, but 'bot mode is pretty much MP-scaled.

I have him and love him still, but he's not a flexible boy, more of a powerhouse with thick limbs.

Well the downscaled KO odds are will be lighter, but probably no more stable. Guess we'll see at the end of the month.

This Predaking is not exactly CHUG, but definitely nor MP scale. I've always considered him to be slightly bigger and bulkier than other combiners, but not Devastator. I think, he's perfect at this point.

It's weird how he looks like he COULD fit in a CHUG scale at a glance in combined mode, but the individual robots absolutely don't.

Chugsterpiece Feral Rex has become really difficult to classify nowadays. In combined mode he's definitely closer to CHUG, individually he works better with MPs. Stylistically he doesn't fit either. And yet, he's still a good looking set.

UT's Warlord was definitely more CHUG-oriented across all forms. I wonder where TFC's Ares fell in comparison.

Can't help but like Feral Rex's aggressive "modern G1" look though.
