    Lack of detail and blockiness.

Hey now! I was trying to be coy about it...

so the people saying it's more "GeeWun" just mean it lacking in detail, engineering and poseability?

Well I apologize for speaking UT here but the UT version in my opinion hoch I have warhawk, it's just blocky, and not alot of articulation. Could use more detail and all around just has that g1 look and feel. It's a good size figure and I think it's closer to a g1 toy because it's not the usual size that we r seeing third parties put out there. I don't think it's fair to mention QC cuz everyone deserves a little slack on their first project. Well with the exception of a Quakewave and Genesis from what I here. For some reason just the over all look says g1 to me..... But it's just my opinion.

I like both the UT and the MMC versions, but that's because they appeal to two different mecha aesthetics the UT Predaking just hits all the right 80's anime Super Robot buttons that I love with it's blocky yet, tasteful design and execution (The extreme amount of articulation in gestalt mode is certainly a plus as well.). Whereas the MMC Pred hits all of the right modern day mecha designs with its detailed ridges and panels and powerful silhouette. I'd get them both if I could but money's tight and I'd much rather spend it on the underdog than MMC despite them having a great and established reputation for the mere fact that, this is UT's first foray into the world of 3rd party figs and it takes a lot of guts and money to step into this market with an upgrade kit, let alone a full gestalt team.

Quakewave is not thier first project, just sayin. FT01 was a prime trailer.

really wish i had bought doubles of tantrum and divebomb at the earlybird prices--- gonna add PE arachnia to a Predaking scene, with a few extra predacons for some true beastiality. :lolol
guess ill get doubles of headstrong and rampage?... assuming razorclaw will be the most expensive. he's 8 inches tall? how many pens is that?

edit: oh sweet, and MP grimlock can finally have a proper home as well.

Well u said it better than I did. Your correct on all accounts. IM trying to get both. I hope UT does well even though many have written them off as crap. I know mmc will be successful. I want as many third party companies as I can making toys, so I wish anybody trying to make it good luck

Technically its still their first full figure they actually released. A trailer is a bit easier to design than a complete figure. Im hoping to pick up an extra Talon for bot mode after its out and someone has buyer remorse. LOL

With all due respect, I'm hoping NO ONE HAS BUYER REMORSE WITH THESE!!! :D

I can see why fans like UT -The fans remember their G1 toys or characters that were in the show S3 (briefly) and comics. They want updates to their G1 figs.

However, MMC is really more stylized and reimagined like Classics. The characters are re-engineered from their G1 selves. Normally I'm a G1 purist and I really don't give much of a shxt about CHUG. I love my MPs because they G1 accurateness. I'm looking forward to this set because they scale with my MPs, I liked the characters but I'm not attached to their G1 selves (barely in the show and I don't care for G1 toys in general), and I will finally have a Predaking (which has always been the coolest combiner after Devestator)!! :D

Yeah, optibotimus mentioned that in his review. It made me even more sure I had done the right decision in skipping this.

Yeah he manages to gloss over the issues most everyone else has with the UT figure, and dont expect any MMC vs UT video reviews. LOL
