I also agree i can wait for mmc cuz i was exactly like it was mentioned in the post before. I saw ut preds and i jumped not knowing anything. I bought warhawk and preordered the other two. Im not bashing ut at all i plan to get the rest but at the time if i knew anything about mmc version i prrobably would have waited for theirs. Anyways mmc can take their time cuz im not rich and i have othe r things mo ey goes towards (a family) so the more time it takes the more i can save.

 

I was actually pretty grateful that the time between Talon and Bovis pre orders didn't set the standard! I was bricking it that I wouldn't be able to keep up! It's probably been said, but at the time UT was ramping up the predacon arms race so MMC had to get folks on board.

Well brooticus and everyone here sorry bout the UT quote but short and simple. The warhawk is great if u r a g1 fan. If u want a Pking g1 style, that's the way to go. If not u want something fresh,new, and full of detail, then go mmc. I Love the figure. If u like to hear more I would be glad to go to the UT thread. You can get beat up in here for talking about UT.lol

Here goes again, if u like g1 go with UT, nuff said. If u want super detail, high quality, and decent sized figures, go with mmc.

 

given their record and reviews and in hand proof, I don't think there will be much qc issues to bitch or complain about. Mmc is going for gold on this project. They r gonna make sure they get it right. Only super picky critics should have something to say

 

Just curious... but what's so G1 about the UT version as opposed to MMC's here? Is it the simplicity? Hear this a lot, but I'm afraid I don't really get it.

 

I think it's because it looks like shit by today's standards. Just like G1.

 

I intentionally differentiated "ultra" purists from the "traditional" G1 purists.   Basically---those who desire a G1-esque design, but with reasonable updates etc for the sake of time/tech/aesthetics/playability, and those who want basically the original G1 toys remade, regardless of quality/advances in tech.

I've seen more than a couple people mention that they'll still buy UT's version, regardless of currently-known raw plastic quality, breaking wing pegs, or paint issues, simply because it's the most G1-accurate 3P toy ever. It's basically a KO of the G1 figure with ball-joints added in. I would consider them "ultra-purists" who will forsake anything and everything, so long as it's the spitting image of a 25-year-old toy. Because even a lot of "G1-forever!" people look at the UT version and think even if MMC's version isn't quite the style they'd like, UT's has enough flaws to counteract its G1-ness.
