I’m surprised there isn’t a thread for this film(s) yet. Since they’ve been in development since last January.

The fact that we’re getting two filmed back-to-back seems like a sign to me that these are going to be the last ones. Of course we’ll just have to wait and see how they’ll match the craziness of the last three installments.

Christopher McQuarrie’s going to be back as director for both. Rebecca Ferguson will be back for the seventh film.

In terms of new cast, Hayley Atwell is on for both movies, Bradley Cooper is rumored to be looked at for the villain for both, Pom Klementieff is comfirmed for both, and earlier this month Shea Whigham was confirmed for both as well.

Well, that’s everything. Here’s to hoping that these will be every bit as epic as the last three.

The last two were phenomenal. And I like the first one, although it's the biggest slap in the face of an existing fandom in all cinematic history. 2-4 were varying degrees of garbage, but hopefully Cruise & co. an maintain the upward momentum of 5 & 6.

Having now watched all 6 in full. I’m almost the same.

The first movie is very solid, a good espionage film. Even if it did get the series off to a rocky start. And that infiltration scene, the first of many great scenes in this franchise.

The second movie... meh at best. While I enjoy Woo’s style, it didn’t really suit Mission Impossible. Good action bits, but not much else. Too much mask usage too.

The third movie, I can see why you’d view this as garbage, though I don’t agree. The movie feels like an substantial improvement over the last one, though still a little rough around the edges. And this is where the consistency started to pop up.

Fourth movie, totally disagree on it being garbage. Loved it through and through. Too bad Paula Patton didn’t stick around(though they got a more then suitable replacement for her).

Fifth and sixth, my god this the pinnacle! Such great films from start to finish. Rebecca Ferguson, such a knock out, apparently there’s a fair amount of people who think she should’ve been Wonder Woman.

If these next two movies can be every bit as great, this would cement Mission Impossible as one of the all time greats(if it’s not already).

The third is definitely a better movie than the second. It was just too predictable for me. Two hours of waiting for a twist I understood was coming 5 minutes into the movie.

The fourth is even better than the third, but too outlandish for my taste. The villain had a ridiculous goal that made taking the entire movie seriously impossible for me. He basically copied his plan from Magneto in the first X-Men movie. Make Russia Great Again by turning the Russian people into nuclear-irradiated mutants, and the ones who live will be stronger and rule the Earth. Come on, man. Come to think of it, it's more like Footloose's plan in X-Men: First Class. But either way.

The fifth movie brought it back into great territory for me. Not too predictable, and villains with believable human motivations.

Nicholas Hoult Cast Alongside Tom Cruise in Next Two Mission: Impossible Movies - IGN

And now Beast joins the party. Reportedly he’s playing a villain. Perhaps what Bradley Cooper was rumored for prior?

But you can’t deny the acting the was great in that scene.

I suppose that makes sense. Though I just saw it as a crazy guy who wanted to cause nuclear war and ended at that. Though the movie does push it in terms of realism, such as all the times Cruise takes a fall(particularly the one with the car).

Also, “Should I not have jumped? Cause I jumped!”. That made me laugh.

I liked Ghost Protocal a lot and thought Fall Out was decent enough. Definitely looking forward to seeing Atwell in this and Nick Hoult.

All I can say is that my heart isn’t going to be able to handle Hayley Atwell and Rebecca Ferguson on screen together...

I don't remember, but did we ever get a south of the border villain or location?

Yep, all Eastern based or domestic.

You asking because of the new actors ethnicity?

Yes, he was cool as Deathstroke in Titans but a little underused.

Nicolas hoult didn't fit with villain role.
