    I guess?

    I'd love a properly-sized G1 Galvatron as much as a MP one.

    Sadly neither exists.

I'd be very, very disappointed if they changed anyone's size.

Yea same, the only scale I want to see in Missing Link is 1:1 with the original toys.

Heh, not even. Masterpieces are for the screen accuracy - randomly chosen inexplicably upsized G1 figures with ML engineering is pretty THE wheelhouse of what the crooked little KO outfits hiding on eBay like to do. Unless of course Takara start a "scale accurate" retro G1 line one day in another decade or eight.

But yeah, anyone thinking ML is going to change the outward appearances of any of these figures - nevermind debating people of why/how they should - clearly don't know what the ML line is about. Like, Takara themselves outright said it... so it's not even a question of assumption or theorizing.

    Read "IMO".

I'm not expecting TT to change shit according to my taste. Wishful thinking, sure.

I'll take a ML Galvy "anime version" like the one TT released a while back though. It's gotta be a given.

That's not the point of Missing Link. The goal is classic toys with modern articulation. If you want scale then look to any of the countless lines that already provide that.

I think we won’t have to worry about it since it’s unlikely they’ll move beyond Diaclone/Microchange molds (1984-1985). And that’s fine with me.

Even if they do go beyond Diaclone/Microchange sourced figures to update, with the current rate of releases it'll be a whiiiiiiiiile before they would get to Galvatron

Galvatron has a lot of articulation for a G1 figure already - for expanding past Diaclone/Microchange molds I'm thinking about bots like Powerglide, Cosmos, Warpath that don't even have separate feet.

If this line goes far enough, I may completely ditch my Newage EX (toy repaint) collection for it. Even those have a little more toon DNA than I'd like and they flat out won't do EX minibots. ML is exactly what I want.

Imagine him being to pose at that huge ass size like the Marvel cover where he’s kneeling on Ultra Magnus and now you can recreate that cover with Missing Link figures now how disproportionate they are to not only that artwork but to each other.

    AWESOMENESS

    I give it 2 years

Why is it unlikely? I don’t mean that to sound smart ass either, I’m genuinely curious, I haven’t seen that opinion before.

I suspect they’ll keep it going as long as sales support it, which I reckon is going to be a while. From everything I’m seeing and hearing around Akihabara, Convoy was a runaway success, so much so that Takara was even surprised.
What I was told is that they essentially expected Ginrai to blow up and ML to be a little more niche, and the opposite ended up happening.

This would make me sad, only because I don't want ML to end without Hot Rod getting the treatment - I have a lot of affection for his G1 toy, and if I could get that exact toy but with working legs, I may never ask Takara for anything ever again. other than Titan Class Brave Maximus.

It took about 8 months from reveal to release for ML Convoy. Bumblebee and Cliffjumper probably aren't due for another 6 months or so. You really think they can release 60+ figures in two years before finishing the everyone before the movie and hitting the movie era? Even if they jump around, it'll likely be a very long time before they skip up that far at the rate it takes for them to get this product out the door.

Obviously I don’t KNOW anything but I just get the feeling that the general vibe of this line is to get the modern Transformers collectors, vintage collectors, and Diaclone/Microchange. We shall see…

More than anything, I want ML Ratchet. I’ll feel compelled to buy three of them. :lol

I dunno how quickly they'll dive in to stuff like Combiners given the tricky nature of what they're doing. But I could see them tackling stuff like Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, etc. Where they only have two modes.

But yeah, it's a goldmine if they are able to keep the flow steady. Mattel proved with He-Man there's a market for vintage toys with modern articulation.
