This is more of a curiosity question than anything else. When the HUB first started replaying G1 episodes I had set it to record the series and it did. When I went back and checked the number of episodes, it came up with 97 episodes. The only episode missing was season 2's "Make Tracks". I had rationalized that the reason that episode did not recored was a DVR error, or maybe possibly the electricity went out the day it was scheduled. Not thinking much of this, I just looked to see if that episode would come up again as many have. I did not see it and another full series of episodes seem to go by. I became more vigilant and have been checking the last year religously with no luck. I am beginning to thing that in order for syndication of the series, one episode had to be excluded. Is this true? Have I missed something. Anyone else have the same issue?
That's one of the few episodes I actually recognize by name, so I'd hate to think it was intentional, especially since I cant't imagine what about it would earn a blacklist or anything.
I noticed it to since i love that episode, i was going to eventually make a thread about it when i felt like it. But anyways i have no clue why they would skip that episode. But it doesn't matter for me since i have the whole series on DVD now.
well that sucks, if they were going to skip an episode they could have at least skipped B.O.T. or perhaps Carnage in C minor. I doubt many would miss those.
I KNEW one was missing! Make Tracks is one of the more recognizable episodes, but they decided to air B.O.T, and Only Human? What the hell the Hub? HOW DARE YOU EXCLUDE TRACKS AND HIS FANTASTIC FLAMBOYANCE!?
The first few times the series ran on the HUB, I swear they skipped B.O.T., because I'm a big fan of the Protectobots, and wanted to see all the eps with them in it again. But that episode wasn't aired, they skipped to season 3. Got slightly annoyed, because I wanted to see my favorite group, even in a terrible episode. They've since aired that one a few times. Can't see why 'Maake Tracks' would be skipped frequently if not permanently, though. I mean, they DO show BOT and C Minor now after all.
Many years ago when I was taping The Simpsons onto VHS Fox would never show Who Shot Mr. Burns Pt 2. I was never able to get the second half on tape. It was odd too because the show was airing four times a day at 6:30 & 7 then again at 11 and 11:30pm at that time. They could have showed Pt 1 & 2 back to back but never did. I'd complain to no end that in the history of 2 part episodes on television at no time would a station air the first part and not the second.
Eh, it's no biggie really. I actually have the DVDs, but I just liked keeping episodes on the DVR out of laziness I just found it odd and was curious. I wonder if it is a simple fact of keeping a random episode out to force the completionists out there to buy the sets of DVDs. Maybe its a common practice with TV series....I dunno <shrugs>.
I am pretty convinced at this point that "Make Tracks" will not air on the HUB. While I think there is a reason behind it, I don't think that particular episode was specifically chosen. I bet it was just random. Interesting to say the least.
Could be his metrosexual voice? I know it sounds stupid, but you'd be surprised by the stuff they won't air because it's deemed "offensive."
Maybe in today's more 'PC' climate, they decided the character portrayal wasn't one they wanted promote...nor the fact he was stealing a car. Other than that, I got nothing.
My guess would have to be the fact that it's set in NYC, deals with car thieves and chops shops and has a human character that probably wouldn't be consider pc. I've never seen the episode, but from the synopsis on TFwiki I can't really find anything in comparison to some other episodes that would cause it to not air. :shrug
