Gonna be brief. 1. I want silver missiles for TFU Acid Storm (the all green is not so kewl) and was wondering, which would be best/easiest- repainting them myself or just heading over to the J.E. for an extra set of Starscream missiles? 2. Been reading the Tutorials on painting, and was wondering if those instructions work with painting just about anything plastic? got some old (I mean OLD) water guns, Nef guns I wanna redeco. especially my 2 mavericks and Longshot. Just curious of anyone had done that and needed to do something different. thanks
You could probably get away with painting the missiles, or pay a few bucks/trade for some. Just dends on how much work you want to do. As for repainting the waterguns, be careful. I think there are laws about repainting toy guns to look realistic, or even if there are not, if it looks like a real gun, cops will treat it like a real gun.
The Maverick is pretty great to work on. I painted one up as a gift for my wife a while back, and I had a lot of fun with it. My biggest problems were sanding the fine details and such, using an absolutely terrible primer (I might as well have mixed white out and water) and impatience. It was my first time painting anything, though, so I learned a lot.
That Maverick looks great, that was basically what i wanted to do. a simple 2, 3 tone paint scheme for it. i don't have the skill for aging/rust/damage effects. i am thinking that i will try to paint the missiles as i work on one of my water guns. not too worried about the law, since i don't take them out in public. just wanting to try new things with what i do have.
