So here is a "Mirage Field" I designed midway through 2019 and finalised towards the end of 2019.

Originally I produced 12 of these for a select group of collectors who all wanted something a bit different to display their Mirage figures in. I actually ended up making 14 altogether because in order to get a discount purchase on the component parts I needed to make the original 12 it made sense to produce 14.

    Dio details:

It's made from a wooden base with hand-carved and hand-painted, rock-effect, high density modelling board. This is a unique diorama, suitable for any Transformers fan’s collection.

This custom-built piece incorporates a transparent tube framework, which allows for the illusion of Mirage’s famous stealth mode from the G1 cartoon series.

The 1m USB-powered LED lighting system can be plugged into a power socket, or laptop and lights up in a florescent yellow.

This diorama has been something I had been thinking of since I first saw the initial MMC Sphinx release and has been an absolute pleasure to produce throughout its conception, not only for myself but for a handful of amazing UK TF fans. The unit itself took several failed attempts to design and figure out how to make it all work in the process and the finial design is something I am extremely proud of.

As is the nature of any diorama, each piece will be slightly different from the next in terms of rock formation / carving as well as slight variations on colour.

The unit stands approximately 270mm height and 250mm wide and 250mm deep.

    Boxed and securely packaged.

*Disclaimer: Does not actually make Mirage disappear*

Awesome! Really like what you did here. Where do you get transparent tubing from? Is it just a clear plastic?

Hi. Only checking in here since a very long time ago it seems. I don't have any left. The initial concept was a crowd funded project that only 15 of us were involved with. Thanks for your interest though!

Sorry, late reply. Haven't been here for some time. It's clear acrylic tubing. It's available online at loads of places... I think I used a plastics company through ebay but they also have their own UK business as well.

    Thanks for the comments! Appreciated.

If you ever plan on doing this again Evan's designs has the track lighting like you're trying to pull off battery operated I believe.

This can use USB or battery. The user has the choice. Battery pack hides nicely under the base for no wires.

If I ever made more I'd follow the same process and use the same components I did with the original run. Works perfectly.
