With a world as reach as Transformers there will throwaway lines or a minor facts that never gets followed up on but open up a world of possibilities for storytelling. Maybe it was something in a techspec. Or something a creator mentioned in an interview that never got addressed in the comic. A connection between two characters. Or a role a background character could have played. Or a cultural aspect of Cybertron that we never got time to examine.

Why idea/fact/tidbit do you wish would have gotten more focus?

For me it is something from IDW's Dark Cybertron. I believe one of the interviews stated that Camien Colonists had developed a culture of hand-to-hand and melee combat due to such a lack of energon meaning that blasters were too costly to use. Swords, axes, axes, clubs, even tools. This made the Camien bots deadly when they got up close, swift like ninjas and experts at melee.

This never got talked about in the comics and very quickly the Camiens were using blasters just like Cybertronians. But I wish they had brought this into greater focus, as it was something that made them different from the Cybertronians. Also, it would have added drama to events where they HAD to use a blaster but were bad using it or one from Camien took on a Cybertronian and found the fight very odd because both relied on different methods of battle.

I wish we'd seen more of Maximal/Predacon society, how the two factions get along on Cybertron apart from Megatron and the Tripredacus Council's respective ambitions and Primal's idealism.

So apparently Blades has a latent killer instinct. I wanna see a story where he finally snaps and goes to far, followed by a small miniseries where Hot Spot has to hunt down his former subordinate.

What became of Blitzwing after his confrontation with Galvatron in Five Faces of Darkness.

I want to see how long it actually took the Torkuli to recover.

From G2, Jhiaxus' Cybertronian Empire being only a fraction of Liege Maximo's minions.

In the movies, but somewhat related, Lockdown's words about the Creators and Knights and there being a much larger universe. That was much more interesting material than the Earth being Unicron.

Maybe he was relapsing in TFPs "Stronger, Faster" and Optimus was coming from a place of past experience in his tempered response to his old friends demons?

    Reaching? Yes.

I wouldn't mind Kobushi be depicted more in the series.
"He spent years in relative solitude, perfecting his martial arts skills, particularly the study of Metallikato. He believes that every enemy he brings down makes him stronger."

This leads to some interesting potential, maybe serve as an emissary/disciple who works for Bludgeon.

Humans operating mecha with which to fight Transformers would be a nice thing to see more of.

As for anything specific from the original series: more Nightbird please!

Transformers culture. We really don't know what life was like for a race of giant shapeshifting robots during the golden age, before Megatron rose up to create the Decepticons and basically ruined everything.

Like ballet, music, the arts, literature (besides Megatron's 'Peace through Tyrany' which I can only guess is meant to be an expy of Mein Kampf), education, sports, or simply hobbies. They had to be doing something in their free time since they weren't all senators.

Quintessons. Their biology, social hierarchy, where did they come from, and how did they become so technologically advanced to where they could create life [mechanical life but life nonetheless].

Good question, and quite a few good responses already. Let's see...

Facsimile Constructs, the lab-grown pod people / humans from the early days of IDW. The Reapers that were introduced in Sixshot's spotlight that were lead by a new iteration of the Deathbringer, hell, I'd love to see the OG Deathbringer revisited as well, perhaps they could combine the two into a new non-Cybertronian antagonist. The Vok and their place in the universe. Maybe Tornedron could be some bizarre offspring of Unicron. Primacron. The Trans-Organics. Besides Windblade (if she must be included) being a member of the Camiens, as I think with the Circle of Light, Caminus is mostly redundant, she could be the younger sibling of Nijika from G1, built by the same species. The Chronarchitect could maybe have some connection to Vector Prime and Logos Prime. The proper Liege Maximo, as well as his followers and the Empire.

The Destructons, budding as a lesser known (it works, but if abused / overdone the subsequent generations have problems such as lack morality and emotion, less of a personality, mutations etc.) method of reproduction when no other options seem to be available, the Infinites introduced in Lost Light, the Chimeracons from Sins and requiem of the Wreckers. Perhaps a better writer could do something with the Knights of Cybertron.

I'm of the opinion that 'fembots' don't need an origin, mostly because they're not important enough to warrant one, but the idea of them either being an artificial element introduced by an amoral scientist, perhaps out of concern that budding, forging and cold construction won't be viable forever, or even just a random mutation that occurs in every couple batches would be interesting. I'm not gonna get into the reaction that I know would result from this if they dare explored such a concept again, but I'm of the belief that writers should be able to create and explore what they want without a mob telling them what they can and cannot write about. They aren't human, we should be able to explore weird and creepy kinds of things like this.

I also prefer them lacking (and being largely unaware of) sex and not having (or caring about) gender identity because it serves no utility to a race of machines.

Prowl being depicted as logical and extremely patient as per his tech specs.

A story based on the blurb from the European Overlord packaging where the Autobots send Gripper, Flame and Lightspeed to investigate the rumour of a new breed of Decepticon on the edge of known space.

They could have had that at the start of G2. And at the end have the Liege Maximo revealed as Overlord.

Explore Kick Off's time as a gladiator in the Grease Pits of Polyhex and his escape.

The concept of the Matrix Templars from the Universe comics explored. Universe Snarl was shown to be one. Regeneration Hot Rod strikes me as potentially a Matrix Templar.

Answer the question as to whether Matrix Templars have an affinity for the Matrix, basically potential Primes. Are there many? Show Thunderwing to be one.

Any future portrayal of Thunderwing explore his Matrix Affinity AND his valuing his troops.

Any future portrayal of Scorponok show him to be conflicted like his Marvel portrayal.

Explore Repugnus' monstrous character as portrayed in his Dreamwave profile.

Answer my decades long question as to whether Motorvator Lightspeed is the Technobot of the same name and what happened to the other Technobots if that's true?

Show Hot Rod becoming Rodimus Prime in future series.

    Prime Smokescreen becoming a Prime.

Blurr's personality reflecting his G1 tech specs' intelligence of 8. Show him fighting more using his super speed. Simon Furman's the only one to show that side of him in Matrix Quest and Regeneration.

More of G1 Ultra Magnus out of his armour.

Show more of Minimus Ambus' predecessors during their time bearing the Magnus mantle.

Future Sunstorm's messianic status explored. How would he react to meeting a Prime particularly the chosen one, Rodimus Prime?

Cyclonus and Scourge recalling their past lives. How they felt about being reformatted?

Future series following the early IDW concept of Transformers lifespans and the war being only thousands of years old. Do away with the million year concept. It's too unrealistic.

I definitely would like to see the Quintessons being explored more.
One of the most interesting and under-focused aspects of the franchise imo.

They’ve gone over some of Cybertronian culture and life before the civil war in Cyberverse, but, yes, I’d want a more detailed exploration and world-building.

Where Cybertronians live? The oil baths that Arcee alluded to in Prime and other beauty and grooming and fashion for female Cybertronians.

Concerts. The types of music they listen to. And please don’t make it Soundwave all the time. There has to be other Cybertronians attuned to music and sound.

Where they worked. Bulkhead mentioned he was a laborer in pre-war Cybertron. Boulder was an engineer. Ratchet worked in the medical field. And yet, there were slave miners like Megatron in the rough and tough landscape of Cybertronian cities like Kaon.

I want Cybertronian flora and fauna explored. I described this before as naturally occurring fiber optic structures throughout Cybertron that, at night, naturally glow in different radiant colors.

In rescuebots, they’ve alluded to holidays such as the Festival of Primes and Allspark Day. Those need to be explored. I want to see how they celebrated those.

    Energon rivers.

Entertainment which several had been alluded to throughout the history of the property. Despite the seedier entertainment choices (we know they have Cybertronian porn referencing the G1 movie), theres also the football-like sporting events mentioned in cyberverse and, of course, the gladiatorial events, among many others. Explore bars and places like Macaddams where Cybertronians congregate for energon, hang out and mingle.

I’d like them to explore Cybertronian spirituality, their worship of Primus and the Allspark as givers of life in various Temples of Primus and other places of worship scattered throughout Cybertron. I’d like them to show sages of Primus or Allspark eremites who are basically Cybertronian spiritual leaders/spiritual guardians. These types of Cybertronians are more spiritually attuned and, if there’s ever a crossover with Star Wars, these Cybertronians would be more predisposed to the Force and its principles, learning it and either becoming Cybertronian Jedi or Sith Lords.

Parks and recreation. We know the book Exodus alluded to Cybertronian parks like Six Lasers. Museums. Schools. Actually it would be cool if, at some point in the future, post-war and Cybertron restored, I’d like to see interstellar exchange students where it would show some human students in classrooms in Cybertronian colleges learning Cybertronian medicine or physics, engineering, etc.

I’d like them to explore Cybertronian medicine and genetics. We know they can get infected with rust disease and can be literally deadly. I want them to explore their biomechanics, not too detailed, because we can never really know. But Prime alluded to it perfectly with episodes such as taking out one’s t-cog and without it they’re not able to transform. Things like that convey to the audience they have their own biomechanics in the same way humans can go through if they have a missing kidney or liver. It’s just enough to show how different Cybertronians are but not too detailed either and the rest leaving it up to the audience’s imagination.

But I’d really like to see rites of passage for adolescent Cybertronian fliers. I see it as them, with their parents, if they have one, gather at the tallest peak on Cybertron, jump off from that point and fly along with other Cybertronians capable of flight. Cyberverse alluded to some fliers have this superiority complex because of their ability and like that aspect of the culture and social stratification explored more.

I’d like then pretty much to explore Cybertronian life pre-war leading up to the golden age and eventually into the imposition of the terrible caste system that was driving factor in Cybertron’s socio-political upheaval that would eventually give way to the rise of Megatron, the Decepticon revolution, formation of the underground Autobot resistance and then leading up to the Great Cybertronian Civil War.

The Transformers left behind after the Ark and Nemesis leave Cybertron. There's definitely a kickass story about Elita One's crew leading an underground resistance against Shockwave and his troops fighting for survival on their desolate planet that hasn't been told yet.

Is this a reference to his G1 tech specs?

I wish we could have a more heroic Prowl who uses logic.
I wish Swerve was more like the scientist he was described as being.

Goldbug as Autobot espionage director. I picture him like a cross between Nightwing (former sidekick grown up) and Phil Coulson (enthusiastic, willing to apply his own unique methods and idealism regardless of what's "expected" of his position because he's in charge now, dammit).

The Protectobots and especially Defensor. What is it exactly that makes him one of the mentally more stable gestalts? Have they just been that great a team already before becoming combiners? Does Blades' killer instinct put a strain on the team, or does being on the team stabilize him mentally? Is he the component that makes Defensor efficient in combat? Does Groove's pacifism balance him out? Is Hot Spot such a great leader that he can make his team work in unison when in combined mode?
