Yup, pretty much, and the Space Galaxy editions may as well be.

    From where?

I really should get started on collecting the harder to find ones of these too, since I waited for some of the rarer minicons and now it either almost impossible to find or really expensive... I only have a few of the limited arms microns at the moment.

I suppose they could stay at their current low levels for a least a while longer (it appears there's plenty of stock floating around out there still), but a lot of the campaign microns from Arms Micron and Go! are easily available for prices much lower than their earlier campaign brethren, so if you want to go the completionist route now's a good time as any to jump on them and check them off before they actually do become "rare" (whenever that may be) and prices start going back up. At the very least, it appears you have plenty of time to do that.

At this point I'm not sure any of the Arms Micron campaign releases even qualify as "uncommon" right now, since Shining R.A. GR is easy to find as part of a set (not as much solo) and even the Hellflame microns can be found for decent prices if you look. Maybe Shining Gra B? It's the one I see pop up on eBay the least.

I can't recall where the all Black Space team sold (they had little or no paint on them they are almost like prototypes) but they had some small number as prize item I can't recall where or why it may have been in a magazine or a show raffle - heck if I can recall.

I don't know anyone who actually has them.. but it was quite a while before things like Black God Magnus and Black Magnatron got in an online fans hands too so maybe one day some one might find a set. there is images in the magazine scans... somewhere like bigbot.com probably had them pics.. Heck I've probably got the pictures to buried on some old drive somewhere. I can't swear to it but I think the number made was very small like 5 or 15 (so they could simply have been black plastic test shots given away as a prize though they didn't market them like that) - That might explain them though as some armada Testshots were cast in black plastic too.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying Energon Magnus' test shot when I had the chance to - I like that little car team he originally came with.

    --------

I have never seen the HellFlame Microns cheaper than £40.00 each - I wonder if they are something that only shows up on Ebay.com and not the other regions sites ?

I would like to get a couple of pure Energon B2 sometime though.
I was going to buy a Pure Energon Op but it's so easy for someone to send the wrong one I have to be darn sure the person selling actually knows that they are selling.

I'd be curious to see if anyone can find anything supports that. I've never heard of these as any kind of campaign or Lucky Draw type prize; I figured you were referring to another canceled set that never hit retail.

For the Hellflame microns - Mandarake, dude. Mandarake. I also saw some for as low as $10 at Botcon this weekend, so they're out there. Maybe the seller didn't realize these were a bit more popular than the other campaign microns.

Pure Energon O.P. is easy to differentiate; it comes in a black bag, just like Pure Energon B.2.

The only thing that wasn't clear about these was at the time of release, whether they it was any different from Shining O.P. or not (Pure Energon B.2 didn't have that problem). I picked up the black bagged Pure Energon O.P and confirmed it's made in a clear electric blue colored plastic, same as Pure Energon B.2, and differs from the typical clear blue plastic used on Shining O.P. The only way someone could send you the wrong one is if they actually open the black bag, remove the micron, then put the wrong one back in the back without realizing it. As long as the black bag is still sealed, you should be fine, and you can always check with the seller to confirm which color it is (when it's already opened or if they're comfortable opening it to check for you).

Now I do know about the energon ultra magnus with the car team. Seen only one ebay about 6-8 years back. Remember it going for a pretty penny. Only one I have ever seen.

Pretty up to date with pre arms micron releases, thats the reason i asked about the black space team. From what you speak of, they sound like prototypes. Rikkomba said the space galaxy destruction team and drago were the rarest. I tend to believe him after years of looking. But nowadays, all the jpn releases seem to be harder to come by.

Unpainted prototypes aren't a priority for me, but if I come across some I'll still buy it though if it's a decent price.

I'll probably never succeed in owning 100% every Minicon/Micron (not AM ones) ever produced, but I'm still happy pursuing and adding little by little to my already pretty large collection. Dragoyell is an example of an impossible one for me (price and rarity, only ever saw two and they were $2000+). Makes me realize how lucky I was to find Kingbolt in a lot for only $20 with lots of extras and a Falcia for $8 (Then I paid $100 for the complete female team and now have an extra).

Currently I have all US releases except for Kranix, OTFCC Leader-1 and Overload redecos, Botcon SG Whisper, and unreleased teams. I have all the X-dimensions, all boosters except for ver. 0, and the music CD teams. Quite a few limited campaigns, but still need a decent amount of the really rare ones and of course DVDs. Oh and also need the variants from the regular Micron Legend figures (i.e. Comettor has different shade of colors), including the clear Optimus and Nemesis Prime.

I obtained a lot of the regular release figures through lots a while back and have slowly been selling back extras after comparing which ones to keep based on condition.

So, not quite there but a pretty good percentage of them taken care of. I'm probably going to start trading/selling some of my more rare bigger figures if they match in value/rarity that I've been holding onto.

Touching on variants, has anyone picked up the AoE Evolution Slug and Strafe sets and compared those minicons to their DotM counterparts? I haven't been able to tell if there js any actual difference, or if they are in fact exactly the same.

I too was wondering about that when they were first announced. I've read around that it was the same, but have yet to see a photo comparison or close up from someone that owns both releases.

Thanks! I've actually bought a Vector Oracle from this seller before so it's a good choice. I'll keep an eye out, haven't watched his listings in a while.

Is there a site somewhere that Archives the Japanese toy Magazine scans perhaps someone just needs to look up the year of 2002-03 scans for any oddiites or forgotten prize items.?

I'm sure if you told some people now about the Hong Kong TRU Adventure Teams they'd likely not know what those were either they often seem to get overlooked too.

It's a terrible shame that the Armada moulds either wore out got recycled of destroyed as there was terrific Armada Minicons/Micron that would be great to see again.
    -----------

I'll have a look through my Hard drives soon and see if I saved the pics... If I didn't I suspect they might be archived online somewhere in scans of Hyper Hobby Magazine.

Unfortunately Bigbot.com's scan archive is no longer there...I'll do some asking around see if anyone's archiving them if they are then it's only a year or so's magazines to look through for about 2002-2003 or so.
    ------

As for Megatron's Bat by self destruction I was refering the the way the nodules that hold the wings on and the clip that hold the tail on - on mine have all split and had to be reglued... transforming it seems to damage it.

I'd be interested in seeing if you can provide those, and I imagine others are too.

As for Hades...were you transforming it often? I haven't run into those problems or heard of anyone who has. I haven't heard of any of the recent clear microns having any fragility issues right off the bat, actually.

I've been noticing more of the Land Military Ultimate and Destruction Team Undergro(o?)ve and White teams have been showing up on eBay of late. They're not always cheap, but I'm seeing them much more regularly now than I was when I was hunting them down a couple years ago.

The Galaxy Force Calibre, Hellflame and Hellflame White teams still don't show up that often though. I at least see some of the Steel Reinforcement/Megalo team members here and there, but not often as a team (though there's a set on eBay right now, I believe).

Clear plastic will always be more brittle than normal stuff, especially on a hinge with the same type of plastic.

That's the reason why Fun Publications didn't do a fully transparent Mirage for BotCon 2007.

    Right, I totally get that.

I'm just curious if the breakage here is fro wear and tear from constantly transforming it or a random thing, clear plastic or no.

The only Arms Micron I had actually break on me at any point is Zori M (the AMW bagged gun metal gray one); one of the clips on the first tail piece snapped off when I was trying to peg the rest of the tail onto it but luckily the rest of the clip is tight enough to hold onto the rest of the tail. I still need to pick up a replacement so I can have an unbroken one.
