Sounds about right.
Mighty No. 9 Review - IGN
5.6 score from IGN.
Well, IGN is about the last major gaming site who's reviews I trust. That being said though, 6(ish) out of 10 isn't that bad or surprising. We all know that Comcept was focusing on making this a franchise and making other games rather than truly focusing on making Mighty more than just an okay new Mega Man. Not all Mega Man games were incredible or deserved more than 6 out of 10.
Azure Striker Gunvolt Review - IGN
I'm not surprised that the game will be getting bad reviews. I regret backing this game.
Sad day. I don't know what I was expecting, but certainly better than the mediocre reviews it's getting. Still, I'd like to try it. Maybe if a demo is available or it goes on sale for cheap.
One thing I've always felt right from the beginning is that aesthetically, Beck is over-detailed compared to Megaman. And while the hand drawn art is at least decent, the in-game model loses a lot of the bits that made it ok. That's the problem with cramming too much detail into a character that's small onscreen.
Meh. I still loved the hell out of MegaMan games that got mediocre scores back in the day. Most of us only paid a budget game price for this, so I'm sure we'll get at least what we paid for.
I didn't back this game, but I kept an eye on it because it seemed to have potential. But as the delays kept coming, I became less interested. That trailer was the final nail in the coffin. I feel really bad for those who backed this game.
If this shit happens to Yooka Laylee, I will cry my eyes out.
Yeah, but it's 6/10 on the IGN scale, where 7 is average and the 10s are bought.
Speaking as a backer, I'm a little put off by a non-backer fussing over my measly $20 because they think the game isn't good enough or was delayed too much. Let the actual backers worry about that.
Welp, off to Amazon to cancel my pre-order. Now to do the waiting game, and see if things curve; or wait for it to drop to 10-15 dollars.
You know not everyone backed a measly $20, right?
I got a bud who backed over $200. I give him shit about it constantly, but he's a good sport.
He has threatened to light all the perks and the game on fire when he gets it and post it to youtube to recoup some losses.
So every other game site? I've just seen reviews from IGN where the authors clearly have not played the full game and probably cobbled their review together from other information sources and the first hour of gameplay.
Here are some links to GameRankings.
So far Jim Sterling's review has been the harshest (link), giving it a 40%. Is anyone surprised that it's coming from him or is my sarcasm that obvious?
It's still entirely their own business how they feel about it.
Lol I just realized- the ign review said that you obtain a weapon early in the game that nearly breaks it. Energy efficient to the extreme & makes all other weapons practically useless.
They just described the metal blade from Megaman 2.
Do you think Capcom will notice Deep Silver's blunder and take advantage of it?
That or just look at poor sales & decide there's no market for it instead of looking at the reasons why it failed.
Metal blade nothing... They just described the leaf shield!
Lol!! I wanna see someone make it through that game using the leaf shield!
