"Make them cry like an anime fan on prom night."

    Oh god, the cringe.

The game itself looks okay, but that voice over guy...ugh.

Wow, how overwhelmingly mediocre the gameplay looks.
Also, using a hype man in the trailer? That was a gawdawful call.

The hype man was supposed to be tongue in cheek and not taken seriously. It didn't work well, but doesn't hurt the game.

The gameplay looks tight. But the visuals really do scream "MegaMan" clone...which obvious reasons are obvious, but it does detract a bit from the presentation.

I've already paid for the game, and it's finally coming out soon enough, so I don't really need a trailer for it at this point.

That trailer. I was laughing the entire way through, it was so bad it was good. The problem was that it wasn't the intention.

Even Sonic the Hedgehog gave his opinion on it.

I think someone at Inti Creates also got pissed at the people who made the trailer.

The unfortunate thing is that the trailer, in all its shoddy half-assedness, doesn't actually need to sell the game because so many people already 'bought' it indirectly through the kickstarter and so long as it ultimately does see release, regardless of quality that would mean Comcept held up their end of the deal (albiet unreasonably late by way of why it is so late being never actually defined beyond something involving the inexplicably critical online co-op) and this whole mess can finally end.

But in terms of awareness, even though it is largely negative at this point, pretty much everybody who would have an interest in buying the game for any reason and did not chip a minimum amount of money into the kickstarter to earn a copy already knows about this game purely due to the drama. It doesn't even matter that the majority of the game was leaked through a datamined beta version and thus everybody knows how crappy this end product is gonna be - there will be people who buy this game either unironically because they need a Megaman clone of any sort, or will buy it ironically just to experience how bad it is.

Really, this game would have to radically pull a Team Fortress 2 development art shift grade miracle in order to escape its current reputation. But people are going to buy it anyway for a slew of reasons despite how mediocre it is and the 'Crapcom' jokes have long been silenced by Capcom actually being good again.

It took me a full minute to realize that image wasn't outright copy-pasting the explosion from the trailer, but in fact just layered slices of pepperoni pizza haphazardly.

I can't tell if that means the guy who spent five minutes in MS paint copy-pasting pizza everywhere is a genius or that the trailer work was just that bad.

What makes the trailer so brilliant is that "like an anime fan on prom night" line. The only target audience for this is Mega Man fans, since this is just a Mega Man clone. And seeing how Mega Man was so influenced by Anime, I would guess that the lion's share of the audience for this game, are anime fans.
The trailer is essentially making fun of its backers that already made the game so successful that a trailer is pointless. That's the reason the trailer was made, to mock the people who funded it.

The thing is, this trailer had nothing to do with Comcept. Deep Silver made it. The CEO of Inti Creates got pretty angry about it over Twitter.

If Baysplosions were made of pizza, the Transformers movies would have made a billion more dollars easy.

They would also save the many starving in the world. In all seriousness, let's get back to the topic at hand.
