Funny thing is marvel had a micronauts easter egg/ cameo of micron city in ant-man and wasp for the ones they own. Bug was going to be in gotg but was cut from the script as he was to much like rocket. Funny how marvel owns some of them and hasbro owns the rest. Also yeah what about the cartoon?
Damn I have the complete Micronauts comic collection 5 feet from me. What great, albeit very SW derivative, comic. Michael Golden is so underrated a true great.
Yeah, I wish he could have stayed on the comic longer, or come back at some point. But my favorite from that series is Butch (later Jackson) Guice. I also liked Broderick a lot. Marvel owns the characters they made up from scratch, like Mari and Bug. Hasbro owns the characters that had action figures prior to the comic. Marvel did an end run around the action figure thing in the case of Commander Rann by continuing to use him but never again referring to his action figure name, "Space Glider".
It was that first run that sold me. Once you established that first arc I was in forever. This article sums up my Golden feelings. The Micronauts by Mantlo and Golden: It Was Never As Good As Those First 12 Issues - PopOptiq
I am interested. The Micronauts name brings me to the table. I fully expect to be disappointed though.
Yeah, that's not Micronauts. The Marvel comic predates that cartoon by a decade and a half. The weird thing is not only does that cartoon have no connection to Micronauts, but it doesn't even look anything like Microman, either, other than the logo. I guess it's based on some 1990s Microman toyline that never came to the US and definitely wasn't made part of Micronauts.
Marvel Micronauts covers certainly are pretty cool. But we know this movie is probably either going to be IDW Micronauts or new characters/stories invented based on the toys (on which note--Hasbro, actually make a toyline if you're going to revive dead franchises).
Given all the sucky cartoon movies we've had, I sincerely hope you guys will end up with a good adaptation. @Scrapmaker Out of curiosity, what dead franchise did Hasbro revive that didn't get a new toyline?
Not anything in particular, it's just that Hasbro has consistently demonstrated that they're terrible at handling things that aren't Transformers, or Ponies.
