The Micron Dentsu one is straighter in plane mode. The Armada one dips slightly in the front half.

I'm sure it was another toy safety thing.

I've hunted round to try and find a picture comparing them to each other, with no luck. If you look at the pictures of each however, you can clearly see a difference where the cockpit attaches to the main body of the plane.

Yeah the cockpit area sits straight on the MD version. Also the gray is lighter and his yellow is gold. There are also some additional painted details. The MD one is a ton better IMO (I have both).

Depends on your tastes. He's no where near as poseable as most modern figures, but there are some nice features built into him. He's one of the better early Armada toys.

Go in expecting it to be up to current standards, and you'll be disappointed. But if you pick it up remembering this is a toy from an era when poseability was secondary to gimmickery, and you have a figure that pulls it off better than some of his contemporaries.

Yeah, Armada Starscream was a brick. But he has so much character in the cartoon and toy that he's irresistibly sexy.

He's one of the better toys from Armada, and has some nice play gimmicks. The Micron one is very pretty. But poseabililty could be better (though he is still better than a good amount of other figures from that line).

    I have the MD version.

The Hasbro version was sort of off-white while the Takara version is pure white, too.

I recomend it. Its a fun figure. I also love Starscreams character in Armada though, so I might be somewhat biased.

In a word, No. Like most of Armada, it is completely terrible compared to virtually every other line from Beast Wars forward. The engineering of Armada was a 10 year degradation at the time. Between the lack of articulation, the poorly sculpted heads, the sculpted "blob" logos, the weak vehicle mode designs, the lack of translucent plastics on windows and cockpits, the unimaginative transformations, the messy overly done sculpted details and the largely useless Minicon gimmicks that hamstring a large number of the figures, it's really a line to avoid. Even the best figures from it have fairly critical flaws IMHO.

You're much better off with Energon Starcream or tracking down the Galaxy Force voyager for a good representation of that character.

Hasbro's is gray, Takara's is a very light gray (almost white).

harsh but true, i only got armada skywarp last year because the dark color scheme hides the awkwardness a little better and this mold is better than most of the armada toys. it's tolerable in this context, but entirely skippable unless you're a completist or actually liked armada starscream the character.

I really like Megatron/Galvatron. Both really cool looking IMO. But whatever you do, do not get Scavenger. You'll want to tear out your ears when you hear how annoying the sounds are.
