Nah, I´m with you. I got this guy to be a stand-alone Onslaught too.

I sanded down the pegs on Swindle's add-ons and put some nail polish over it. Now they stay attached much better. Still not perfect but it's significant.

I don't even own any of the official FOC Combaticons (even though I do want to get Swindle). Military Titan looks so good that it seems a waste to leave him in combined mode.

I just love the WFC/FOC aesthetic, and Onslaught is a great figure. He won't be combining anytime soon, not when he's this fun to play with.

Icing on the cake, the spare parts made my G2 FOC Bruticus even better.

I got the TFC Ares set today and Bruticus scales really well with him. Managed to swap the retail colors as well for the SDCC parts and it looks much better in my opinion. Both my favorite combiner sets/add on kits of the year!

I think I would have if I had thought of it. Just finished getting him apart before coming on here (had some trouble disengaging Vortex and Blastoff from him).

I received this set for Xmas from my (patient, understanding) wife, and I went through a lot of what everyone else has been going through. The first time I tried to transform him from robot to truck, I had to set him down and get a drink, it was very frustrating in the arms especially.

Once I figured out the arms - the instructions are very poor - the truck mode easily leads to the combiner mode. I didn't have as bad a time with Swindle's add-on foot parts - it's a bit loose on mine, but once you get it firmly on, it stays on. Once it's combined, it looks great, and makes Bruticus feel much more major and cohesive.

I think this set does several clever things well, the arms are a cheat, but they're a good, effective cheat. I like the use of gun barrels as pegs for the arm assemblies, and how Blastoff disassembles and is put back together as an arm. I have found the original combiner weapons can stay just fine in most modes, the add-on parts tend to have extra peg holes for them. Vortex carries those big guns in copter mode much better using the holes in the sword-guns rather than the holes in his skids.

I'm still not 100% sold on the robot figure, the shoulders still feel a bit iffy to me, and the third time I transformed them, they started feeling too loose. Maybe I just need to work it a bit more - this is a figure that rewards patience.

If I had some constructive criticism for Microblaze, it would be to make your instructions better and clearer, use diagrams rather than pictures and show close-ups on certain complicated assemblies (the waist!) so we see how to get there.

I agree that the FP Bruticus shotgun makes a great add-on, and Onslaught in robot mode wields both halves of the shotgun very nicely.

My takara Blastoff came in. Makes all the difference in the world. Now I just need a retail Swindle.

I had the same issue with Onslaught's legs untabbing below the knees. I also wasn't aware that the parts-forming panels could lock onto the legs, preventing them from untabbing. Excellent video and very informative!

In your video, I noticed the wheels that end up on the sides of Bruticus above the waist weren't locked in and were too low. Similar to when you transform Onslaught into vehicle mode, you have to swivel the tire onto the bar it's on. Once you do that, it does lock in on the sides below the chest and above the waist. I hope this helps you!

soooo, basically - you don't need a blastoff, but you do need a 12 inch clear rod to prop it up on...

    interesting though

Glad to pass it on. :)
Meh, it's 6 of one half dozen the other with the wheels. It may be how it's supposed to be but it doesn't look amazingly different to me. Also they absolutely don't lock any differently with wheels up. :p

Uh, no.. Might want to actually watch the video. The parts forming chest shield can tab onto Onslaught's legs in robot mode... That's what he's referring to.

I managed to get Brawls black head platform stuck in his chest cavity I even broke a nail clipper trying to pull it out any suggestions I would appreciate it.
