Michael Fassbender Cast in Assassin's Creed Movie - IGN

I agree, he's a great actor! A great choice for the lead, it's nice to see him getting more prominent roles.

 

He's a great actor and I loved him in X-Men: First Class. I'm still sceptical about this movie though.

 

This is fantastic news. One of my favorite actors could be in a movie based off of one of my favorite video game franchises. I wonder if he will be playing Desmond, Altair, or both.

 

OMG! This is fantastic news to hear! It will be interesting to know who he'll be playing as. I've been longing to know more about the upcoming film. This makes me VERY happy, as I love to play the games!

 

I'd much rather see him as a new character in another time period than try to pass him off as Altair or Ezio. He's got the chops, but I can already hear the racebending engines revving up.

 

I'm still waiting for a Director to be attached.

Hopes... rising?

 

I have a full-on man-crush on Michael Fassbender, but I wasn't dying to see an Assassin's Creed movie, so this is a "wait 'n see" type deal for me.

 

He's a good actor but I was hoping the movie would focus on Ezio and Fassbender seems about ten years too old for that.

 

Michael Fassenbender was such a great Magneto. That's great I'd totally watch the Asssasin's Creed movie even if it sucks just for him.

 

why? video games tend to be just as cinematic as movies, and often offer better plots.

so why bother making a movie based on modern games like assassin's creed, when it's basically already an interactive movie?  

 

Fassbender is co-producing the film too, So the end quality will reflect on his acting AND work on the business end.This could be an even bigger movie for his career for that alone.

My favorite game series and a fantastic actor. I'm sold.

I can't stop from thinking about his Bond-esq Magneto hunting down and killing Nazi war criminals. That was the best part of First Class.

 

Hopefully we can finally get a movie of a video game that good.

I'm curious to see how they're going to adapt the games. There will be a total of five games come October and it's clear that they will try to adapt those into a movie franchise. Five movies is a huge commitment for actors working on a movie and the actors aren't getting younger. I also wonder how they'll do the 2012 storyline when this movie will be released after December 21, 2012 has passed.
