    An industry rumor I heard.

Looks like Michael Bay is leaving Paramount. When I say 'leaving', he and his company made a deal a while back with Paramount to produce more movies for them. The deal has ended. You guys may hear more as the week goes on.

    Stay safe, everybody.

I guess, the work he's already doing will go on. He can make movies for Paramount but he's not obligated. The exclusivity may go to another production studio.

He’ll probably still be an executive producer on Transformers going forward. The same way that Spielberg is even though his deal with Paramount ended a long time ago.

...what? The films aren't going to automatically disappear from store shelves and rental platforms just because Bay left Paramount.

if I understand your question, they’ll get someone else to direct going forward, like Travis Knight directed Bumblebee.

    That's some Shrek-splosive news I suppose. Sony's in Bay's swamp now.

While I agree some of the bay verses transformers films weren’t spectacular they still helped the franchise grow what it is today so I say that i is to celebrate that he is leaving instead we should thank him for helping the franchise grow from a almost dying state

Wouldn't be any worse than the utter shit first movie they already delivered, sooo... there's that.

Regardless, Michael Bay partnering with Sony will be the film industry equivalent of Justin Timberlake partnering with MySpace: there will be a couple of news blurbs about it, most people will tilt their heads in moderate surprise to hear Sony is somehow still around, others will smile and roll their eyes as they remember how Bay hasn't done anything worth remembering since Bad Boys 2, maybe The Island, and all will be forgotten until their first terrible collaboration gets released and then promptly bombs, this making new 'news' about the partnership.

    Fact.
