I never had my hopes up for them to appear either. Frankly, the movieverse can't work in the Dinobots successfully. I have no idea what's in store for TF3, Dinobots have been ruled out, because it's Bay's way or the highway. TF3's villian might just be Galvatron, but who knows.
That's all right by me; since as long as your name is attached to the third and FINAL film in this series, I'm not going to pay to see it. Won't pay for the DVD of ROTF either. There are other ways, Bay. There are always other ways. And I totally understand how he feels. After all, it is just a "stupid toy movie." TAKING THINGS AND DISTORTING THEM INTO UNRECOGNIZABLE, POORLY-WRITTEN SCROTUM-SWINGING, SPITTING, HUMPING, GOLD-TEEF-HABBIN' METAL BEASTS: Pff, and I don't even LIKE G1 OR Grimlock. I just hate Mykull Bae's movies.

I agree with Bay No really... I get it. I've often thought, sure it would be great to see the Dinobots... but how the hell do you pull that off without making it cheesy and corny? No easy task. And Bay could tone it down a bit with cheesy leg humping robot balls mom tackling kids in the schoolyard stuff as it is. Dinobots would only make things worse I fear. Still I loved both movies. But I get it, Dinobots... bad. So..... go with the characters that are a bit easier to portray. Last I checked Shockwave and some different combiners were at the top of the polls for characters people wanted to see in TF3. That and Unicron... which I don't think is happening... fine... no biggie... same with the Dinobots. Keep giving characters more and more dialog and major roles, as supposed to humans. Just like TF2 Have a good story... without the holes and stuff (ei Jetfire walking out of the Smithsonian in DC and it was a mountain range??? come one?) Keep up the action robot on robot killing. Make it violent, make it adult border line R instead of PG-13. Just like the last one. Keep the running time long... just like 2.... loved that. Also, the RC bikes were a lot cooler than Michael Bay thought they would turn out. I remember he said he hated RC and killed her off, but I thought they were AWESOME! I thought at first there was no way to pull off female Autobots. But he did... nice work! Hopefully there still one left for the third installment. No Dinobots needed, no Unicron needed. Just go with something else. Darker still... more cool robots.... a glipse of Cybertron please! Bay... go with your gut... take out all the cheesy b s though, maybe your ratings wont suck so bad. Although... who cares when the fans are mostly pleased and the movie is in the top 10 highest grossing films of all time.

I don't really want the Dinobots either, but I must be a crazy Movieformer sheeple who will suck at Bay's teat if given the chance. Crazy idea, I know, but maybe people did make up their minds about the Dinobots and reached the same conclusion. Other people ARE capable of critical thought.

Prior to the film (practically every continuity) Optimus Prime came from humble beginnings, The war forged him into the character we know, and according to the movie he was a high ranking political leader before the Great War.

i could care less as to what michael bay likes. if the fandom concensus leans towards dinobots and their participation in tf3, then he should get on board.
We didn't get a full Movie Optimus backstory yet, so that's irrelevant. Not to mention that changing a character's freaking origins hardly means that the person doesn't like the character.
I say just include Dinobot as A Decepticon "monster or the week" with a sense of honor that overcomes his ferality and attacks megs and dies an honorable death. At least he would make sense next to skorp and ravage. Maybe have him made of the spark of an autobot megs killed or something. It would be fitting to megs and stuff... Oh well nerd-storm over.
I apologize if I got my information wrong but I thought that his basic back story, along with Megatron's, was in the prequel comic that came out before the first film? True a character’s origin is not his personality but, it does elaborate on what makes a given character great, which is why in most Transformers continuity there is a constant; Optimus Prime is humble (Animated, G1, War within, and based on AHM #13 IDW as well). I am not questioning whether Michel Bay likes him or not I am asking; if he liked him, why the changes? Perhaps I should have been more detailed in my question.
