I disagree with TFW2005's news headline. This doesn't imply Bay's involvement; just his financial success with the franchise. Nothing wrong with having a 2.5 hour roller coaster of robots beating each other up, to each their own. 5 movies in, though, you do need a little more than just that. The same old tricks get old.

It's time for new blood, like Travis Knight. 5 films with the same franchise that's not wholly a creation of your own would be creatively exhausting and stale (looking at you Zack Snyder).

Besides the indirectly thanking him, as that was a rub, its not. Without the films the MP line wouldn't have continued.

Well, not so much TLK. It's not clear that it even broke even.

    All three?

The "most accurate representation" of what Spider-man character?! Some new re-boot from the comics? 'Cause that shite had little to do with the character that Lee and Ditko created.

    Hmmm...

    What?!

Those occurred after those cinematic abominations, but don't draw correlations where none are. The brand and increased interest was damn fine before the films.

Why the fuck are you tying the movies and Beast Wars together?

Not related, either. In the least.

Honestly if I want to watch the real stuff I watch the old cartoons. I'm more into story lines and cannons when it comes to trek. Haha we got nothing on the trekkies when it comes to ripping up and shitting on the new stuff

I was just thinking about your post and realized that the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" falls in line with pretty much every angry Transformer fan. And I don't mean just "geewunners."

For example, the last time this sort of thing was brought up and I stated the facts about the MP line continuing thanks to the profits of the movies, I was told to show proof. Okay, I did. Several different sources from Hasbro. And upon seeing that proof, they decided it was false and made up because Hasbro is that one company that's out to screw us over.

It seems to me that the issue isn't with certain fans based on what they like, it's certain fans based on what they don't like. And because they don't like it, they think you shouldn't either and your enjoyment of it is ruining their enjoyment.

Seems it just comes down to bitterness and spite. Sad!

Typos, run-on sentence and total lack of structure, oh my! I'd love to reply to your post but I can't make heads or tails of your gibberish. Bravo!

Oh, I totally agree with you about the knight and samurai motifs. I'm all for high tech designs, but I'd love to see some form of respect to the original G1 designs, I.E., Hot Rod being a hotheaded teen type, not a bot with a thick French accent.

Uh...yeah, I think the only thing more split in this fandom besides if you like the films or not, is if you think Prime was good or was trash.

I mean, Prime started out alright...but my God how it turned into the worst series since Energon by the second season.

People also did not love TFA unconditionally and opinions about its look are divided.

People loved Prime and Beast Hunters?
I remember it differently, but I guess it was at least better received by the majority than most of the movies.

Try to find any of the "1st Edition" toys for less than an arm and a leg...this was a VERY popular iteration.

Basing line/show popularity on a small subline of higher-end figures that was generally difficult to find isn't very factual.

Besides, the rest if the toy line outside if First Editions is pretty easy to score on the cheap.
The show seemed to be liked by some (myself included) at first, but seriously died season two.

Dude, that French accent. TERRIBLE! Which defies logic because the voice actor for hot rod IS French.

By that logic, Human Alliance Mudflap goes for far more than FE Prime Prime. Hell, FE AOE figures go for more than FE Prime Prime.

Jesus... Back off there, killer. I was just pointing out that the FE line isn't a good benchmark to judge other stuff by.
Gads, a shining example of why I avoid anything movie related anymore.
